I just wish we knew what the whole lineup looked like - aka, will the Competition be the last M2 for the F87 generation? Or are we going to get something more hardcore (CSL?)

The lack of verified info puts you in a tough place as a potential customer...

For me the M2 Comp is the one. I'm not interested in a CSL or a version that has recaro seats and a roll bar. I track maybe 2x a year. My car OCD prevents me from going to track more often lmao.

I am guessing that would be the best car for me as well, but it's nice to know the whole menu before choosing your meal.

For example, if I had the chance, I think I could live with the compromises of say, a GT4, just so I could enjoy a car of that magnitude. BMW hasn't really made cars like that (the M4 GTS doesn't count in my opinion), so it will be interesting to see what a M2 CSL turns out to be...

I thought about waiting for the next gen M3, but I just love the size of the F87 M2.

I'm really happy with my non-Competition M2. One of the biggest factors for me was the price. I wanted an affordable daily driver. If I was in a higher price-range, I'd get the Giulia Quadrifoglio, not the M2 CS.... That is not intended to be disparaging of the M2 CS, which I am sure will be an amazing car, well worth every penny.

I talked to my dealer about this and supposedly it will be very pricey, especially compared to what kind of discount can be had on normal M2 now (down here anyway).

Im sure it will be awesome but for some people price is quite important Id love to not care though.

I think price is almost as important as what kit is going to be added - the "value" proposition of the M2 is one of its most compelling positives. When you start getting further up in the price range, that advantage shrinks at the same sort of rate.

The base M2 needs to stay below 60K USD in my opinion - so if the Comp is to become the base, they can go up by ~5 grand and still start under 60. But it will be interesting to see...

Same here. Looks like we'll be the first two deliveries in the Chicagoland area.

I predict a no option M2 Comp will be just below 60k just so it seems affordable before options.

I haven't seen LBB when the car has been clean and in good light, so I've never liked it. I am interested in the new HS option though.

People who have LBB seem to really like it though.

PS - I know you didn't ask me, but I thought I would tell you anyway.

Just curious, what is the reason you made this decision?
Keep in mind we don't know anything confirmed about the car yet.
How do you know it will click all the boxes you wanted?

Based on the VINs of all the S55 M2s already made we know a lot about what it has, at least when optioned out.

Don't think he was trolling or insulting - he is just saying BMW loves people that dump their cars every year! Most Auto mfg's love this type of customer

Put the name aside for a moment. There's a clear tendency regarding the specs & features, stable enough to get a good idea of what's (not) gonna be available for the car.

Moreover, there are already several PR campaign cars built and scheduled (photo, movie and trade fair: options 901, 903, 904 and 906). Those particular cars are supposed to be sufficiently loaded to represent what can be expected, don't you think ?

MY 19 will be announced shortly.. and based on all the info I have seen.. there really isn't much new aside from a few trim options, a color change here or there and some potential alacarte items.

I am awaiting the M2 which has the most development and is track oriented. Per BMW's own description.. this would be a CS.. or... actually. a CSL.

I'm not interested in a FWD or FWD/AWD version of a 2 series at all. I've owned many FWD and one AWD vehicle and the performance isn't coming from the proper wheels in either to make me giddy.
