American drivers are not trained properly on how to drive on freeway or to yield to faster vehicles. To make it worse, the rules are not enforced. I think in the US police should ticket drivers who drive slowly and do not yield in the passing lane. I remember seeing couple times in the San Francisco bay area that police actually pulled over slow drivers who drove on the passing lane. Those were rare occasions. I have heard numerous times from American drivers who say "why should I move over? I am driving the speed limit". They have no regard for the flow of traffic and do not care that they ARE the cause of rush hour traffic...

I would LOVE it if they enforced that here. Drive right, pass left. Enforce that shit.

The vehicle recording the incident was driving just as recklessly, how is he some sort of hero?

I'm absolutely positive I've ran into drivers like this MAINLY in LI, though. And like everyone else from NY has said, this is normal driving out here. Not saying its ok...but its normal.

Maryland Drivers are the absolute worst. I rather drive with NY traffic and the occasional recklessness....imho.

Slowing down to prove a point...
Merging slow as hell
Staying in one lane when the other 3 are open.
Stopping and staring for every little petty accident..... I hate MD drivers and I'm one of them. smdh

Surprisingly, I rarely ever see this kind of driving in Maryland. If I do see it, its usually a mustang or some ricer import looking to crash their car. I think the mustang owners are the most experienced at crashing, especially with all their practice at Cars and Coffee...

This isn't to say I don't see driving violations left and right. American roads are plagued with poor drivers - and no, I don't agree Maryland drivers are the worst. I've seen much worse elsewhere.

The guy who filmed this is is certainly being sought after. He's definitely no hero. Would I be a hero if I participated in a bank robbery but happened to be the camera man filming the incident? Nah, definitely a participant - the video makes that quite clear. One point I'm not sure I agree with is the seizure of the car...wasn't it his parents or something? Seems the kid should have his driving privileges revoked for some lengthy period of time, but taking the car from its rightful owner seems a bit... much? Not sure how I feel about that. Assuming what I read was true...

You forgot one. Slowing down tremendously or even stopping in the middle of an interstate because they realize that they only have 50 ft to go before their exit and that they have to cross 4 lanes of traffic to reach the exit in time.

All this despite the fact that there were several clearly labeled road signs telling them that the exit was coming up miles in advance.

Complete dumbass......

I tend to be a little fanatical about being friendly on the road......meaning I don't like people who won't use turn signals, tailgate, and drive slowly in the fast (left) lane. This dork violated 2 out of the 3.......

Uh, you're in public, there's no expectation of privacy. If you're not comfortable drive to the nearest police station or if you're in a state that allows it carry a gun in your car.

Uhhh, there isn't but why do people feel the need to drive around with cameras rolling? You clearly missed my entire point.

Have you ever actually driven in Germany? Any road such as the LIE would have a maximum 130kpm (which he's still above by at least 20mph)limit at all times and probably less than that.

How many people have you seen pass on the right? or tailgate people in congested areas? or use a shoulder to pass someone? How many stretches of autobahn do you think are just open and derestricted without traffic in the left lane?

The speed is irrelevant. At the very least he would be cited for overtaking from the right.

I utterly loathe people who drive like this. Somebody like that cuts in front of another car, they have to step on their brakes, everybody behind them (who is also following too close) has to step on their brakes, and poof... traffic jam. Then it takes an hour to get home from work.
Even putting aside the risk of injury to others, people who drive aggressively cause problems. So please stop.

Tell me about it , I had a big trailer truck pull up in front of me in the left lane of the highway, and he was just going the same speed as the middle and right lanes, i flashed him a few times but he stayed in the left, i had to switch to the middle, switch to the right, to pass him, Absolutely ridiculous.

Oh man you guys haven't seen the Prius drivers here in Los Angeles. Now THOSE are dangerous cars to be driving around. 95% of the usage of my horn is due to a Prius driver. Maybe 98%.

I do it for my safety. These days with people trying to say you hit them, power tripping cops, and crazy drivers like these sometimes having that camera saves your ass.
