Hmm. Wonder what he means by progression/progressive stage? CF roof/more power for competition model?

Production will be less limited is a plus for those who wanted a 1M and missed out but a minus for those who think the M2 might depreciate/appreciate like the 1M.

Also, those definitely look like LED headlights. I wonder if they will touch the kidneys ?

OMG. I'm loving the wait. Thanks for your responses Scott. Very much appreciated.

Didn't think LED would be an option so excited to see that it will be! Special M seats is a nice touch too. Carbon roof will would complete the package on the M2 with the M-DCT for me

That's what I took from it. Power can't be too high as to leave room for a ZCP-like model in the future yet still not step on the M4's shoes.

This is getting exciting now to drive the m235i for a little bit before I make the jump to the M2 as long as it lives up to the expectations in which it's looking like it will

Thank you so much!

This answers so many questions. LED Lights on the M2 seems like a go.

I'm suspecting the price to be close to 50K now. So pumped, this is great.

The M4 is incredible and I know how you feel after having driven one myself a few times BUT the M2 is going to be seriously good apparently and a lot cheaper at around the 45k mark. so this is what I have been told I won't be held to ransom but here goes

The M2 will actually be available September 2015 on the new 65 plate.
It will not be a Limited Production run like the 1M but will be Limited in Comparison to say a normal 2 series of any spec i.e if they make a shed load of 220d's each week they won't be making a shed load of M2's they will be built in small volumes purely on a supply and demand basis.
It will be getting the Carbon Roof! and the rumors of around the 370bhp mark are correct (374ps apparently)
it will be offered in both DCT and Manual Box form, the rumor of manual only is incorrect.
Apparently it wont get the M3/M4 seats but he couldn't tell me what seats it will get? so god knows on that bit of info

and the biggest shock of all!!!!!! Wait for it!!!!

a 5 door M1 is coming!!! as a direct rival to the Audi RS3 (my reply to that was what? I thought BMW would not use the M1 brand as that is taken by the original M1 Supercar? Well apparently that is all going to change. No date is set for the M1 at this moment in time so its all speculation! But I would imagine at least 2016.

This wasn't from me by the way, it was on a UK 1 series forum.
Thank you for the info! However, care to comment on that 45K figure? What currency?

Discussed other page as GBP.

That would mean the M235i is $57,737. It isn't.
In AUD USD$43,100 would be AUD$48,893 (even including a $0.06 drop in exchange rates last month. Instead we fork over nearly $100,000 to drive one away

So that would correspond to about a ~52K USD base price. That's great.

I didn't really think there was a doubt about that, since the 2GT is available with LED. It was only a matter of time before the 2er coupe and F3x get the LED's too.

Well there goes $1900

What benefits do LED bring over xenon? Are they brighter? Do you will get the halo running lights?

Ģ2k is serious wedge on lights!

Yea it's expensive. I think the LED's light a bit better than Xenons (nothing like xenons vs halogens). But the angel eyes look awesome compared to the xenons, very 3D.

So yea, it's a lot of money, but I'm willing to bite the bullet because that's something I'll have to see every time I walk up to the car.

Please let the LED-headlights get LED turn signals. Same for the tail lights. Even Mercedes-Benz Vito/Vaneo has FULL LED head and tails.. Cīmon BMW.

I'm very excited for this car, I'm thinking (and hoping) price with destination for the US is around 52-53 (9-10k difference with the m235i and 9-10k difference with the M3) 370 bhp sounds about right too (hopefully 380) that gives also a good 55-45 bhp with the M3 and 50-60 bhp difference with the m235i. carbon fiber roof and special seats yes please I really don't care about full leather or individual interior colors. If the car is 53k special seats (can be cloth) cf roof, manual transmission, 19 inch wheels (probably extra), LSD, firm suspension, and a good variety of colors im sold even if I end up paying 55-56 for 19 inch wheels and individual colors (not likely but it would be nice).

Lots of good news there - thanks for sharing.

Has there been any more info on the possibility of a GTS/CSL/Competition model to come a year or two after initial release? If so, I will PRAY that it will come to the U.S...

Having driven both M135i & M235i (and 1M), I have a slight preference for the future M1
M2 will be a blast to drive on the track, but M1 (or M140i) would be the more practical, daily drivable car.
