Fun Facts about the M2 (please contribute)
Let's start a thread to post new (to you) or interesting features that the M2 has that you did not know the M2 has. Of course, it will be dependent upon each vehicle's options, but it's fun and helps others learn about the features in the M2.
One new to me item I learned recently is: Hit the Option button near the iDrive controller to to go between normal and split screen modes. |

Maybe anyone new to BMW might not know about coupe comfort opening (note: not comfort access).
To use this press open of the key fob twice. Then when you go to the door handle and open the door it automatically drops the window to about 1/2 way down to make entry much easier in tight spaces.

Here's one:
Late last week my 2018 M2 flashed a low tire pressure warning first thing in the morning. We've had some unseasonably cool temps here in N. Texas the past few days so I assumed that was the reason. Sure enough, after driving a few miles so that the system could measure tire pressures, all four were at 32 PSI. Door jamb indicates 35 PSI cold so I drove to a tire shop near my office, which is about 20 miles from the home. During that drive, the car would not let me toggle out of comfort mode to either sport or sport+ as long as the warning was on the dash. Once tires were inflated properly and I had driven enough distance to re-calibrate, warning light went off and I was then able to toggle between the settings! Weird, my 2015 M3 never did that. Almost like Big Brother is watching! |

The Preset Numbers on the audio system are touch sensitive. Glide your fingers over the buttons to see what station they are preset to.
Pretty cool, discovered it accidentally |

The programmable buttons under the rear view mirror only work if the car is on (to prevent unlawful garage entry?)

When i got the car, didn't know MT had creep mode in 1st gear. Let out the clutch, no gas and the car creeps forward. Great for traffic and drive thru picking up In-N-Out :P

12v outlet in The trunk. It’s on the left side between the wheel well and the back of the trunk. It com s in handy if you have to use the air pump.

Light near the rear view mirror that illuminates the gear shift and the nearby area at night. The default color is white but it can switched to orange via iDrive.

2nd gear “creeps” too. If you let the car come to a stop without hitting the breaks it will just keep creeping along in 2nd without stopping or stalling. Almost impossible to stall this car lol.

Step 01: Get in car
Step 02: tap engine start button once without clutch engaged to wake up the electronics Step 03: switch to sport + mode to open exhaust flaps Step 04: depress clutch pedal Step 05: press start button Result = angry bark on startup. Works on cold start and also when engine is warmed although it produces slightly different angry barks. Both of which are seriously cool.

Every manual transmission Ive ever driven does that.. Youre in gear, engine is idling somewhere just under 1k rpms hence, the car 'creeps' slowly forward as you engage the clutch. All MT cars do it; all Motorcycles do it.. Its just characteristic of all manuals. Its this feature which is oft used to train new drivers on how to shift; it allows for finding the friction point and the proper speed with which to engage/disengage the clutch without stalling.
