Maybe because, atleast in M2, the M performance exhaust is made by akra

It is not made by Akra! Akra does not make any OEM products. They only make products that have a Akrapovic logo on it and nothing else.

M2 M Performance exhaust was made by a UK company.

I highly doubt downpipes will be a restriction if its anything like the M3/M4.

I had ER and then Eisenmann (with flex) on my F80. The ER fitment caused rattles. The Eisenmann fit better than the ER but they cost $1400? No rattles with these.

I had VRSF on my M4 and they fit as well or better than the Eisenmann. $450 no rattles. Best bang for the buck IMO.

Another thing to keep in mind is DP diameter. The sound from a full 3” vs a tapered DP will change. The non tapered will keep a deeper tone.

What's the typical response from a dealer if you bring the car in with catless DP's?

My understanding is you need a tune to properly get rid of the CEL, so I would guess most dealers are not too friendly.

Well you could run a defouler but I meant how they would react to a tuned car. I know for most other cars dealers do not care unless it is blatantly obvious it caused the damage.

BMS can flap will get rid of cel and not void warranty. My m2c I'll be getting downpipes this winter for sure. Won't get big gains without a tune but warranty I'll still be intact

My 2 cents, they can still void parts of your warranty if they want as you have modified the car. It is probably unlikely, but if a turbo blows and they want to be a pain and say it is linked to the downpipe they could.

They way I think about it is if you want to mod you need to be whiling to accept that you could loose warranty.

Do they use the same downpipes from m3/m4?

BMW Cost-Saver I'm sure they will and we learned this from M2/M235/335/435 as well.
Did they order the ones from the f8X?

How does the S55 respond to new intakes?

I see a flash tune on E85 runs ~ 550whp, but is that FBO?

Local member is hitting 620whp 650wtq on stock turbo/stock intake, CTS Turbo DP, Straightpipe Active or Einsenman full exhaust (have to double check), EOS Heatexchanger and Upgraded Top Mount Intercooler, E40 in tank and 100% Meth Injection.
Now for Upgraded Turbos most people seem to go DP/Midpipe (proper one to remove all restriction in primary/secondary).
Intake barely makes a difference IMO but a lot of customers go with it for looks and sound.

bms products do not clear CEL in the USA only outside and for that reason might as well go with the best tune in the market "Bootmod3" that comes with Free OEM Calibration Maps such as "CS, GTS, CSL" + your choice of OTS tune map.
There is E85 everywhere near me, tests typically 75-88% (I have a full racecar that only runs E85 so I test it regularly). I'm assuming they just tune for E70 and send it.

Only thing holding me back at all is the longevity of the engine. I may give myself a few thousand break-in miles to see how its holding up.

Have you tried running Ignite E85 Race Gas yet? Love it in my flex fuel tuned EVO running 33lbs of boost... Works out to $4-$4.50 per gallon if I remember the last barrel...

http://igniteracingfuel.com/E-85.html

Up here in New England pump E85 Avg's about E70....and we are very limited to where we can buy it as well. So I was getting 55 Gal Drums dropped ship to my friends garage.

No, it's unnecessary for me as I have pump e85 all over the place. The difference from e70 to e85 is marginal.

Your tuner will tune for whatever blend you desire.

What is your other racecar running full E85?

Turbo 5.0, ~ 1000whp. Just got my 15s mounted. I'd like to say it'll hit 8s now.
