HS M2C, M5 Performance and M850i at COTA M Track Days

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Went to the last day of M track days at COTA today and M2C was just dropped off for some dealer training session thing this weekend so lucky me, I finally got to see one in person

HS is definitely an interesting color, might have too much pearl in the paint for me. Wheels were a let down, make the car look too soft and that cow udder exhaust, wow! The front joining grilles actually look person in person, was surprised about that.

Here some pics along with other rides they had. Also M850i made an appearance at the end of the day.

Yeah the front of the car looks great in person. I saw it next to an OG M2 and it's a nice improvement in aggressiveness.

Seeing that CS makes me wish the car came in LRG instead of HS.

I agree, CS color looked awesome and would be schweet on the M2C.

Man, I was there Tuesday and was hoping to see one. Pretty slick to catch one today. What model is the cement color coupe. I can’t place it from that angle. Is it an M4? Hood looks a bit different

Jury is still out until I see hockenheim in person but lime rock gray or donnington gray would have been so slick on the m2C.

I see that the diffuser on the HS M2C is really short. Did they make it that way on purpose so that everyone will be forced to buy an M performance upgrade? That thing looks like it is a cheap after market bolt on.

I believe it's the same stock diffuser that comes with the OG M2 too. But yes, BMW wants you to spend more if you want a bigger, more aggressive looking diffuser.

Donnington would have been incredible and an existing colour too. Simples.

I'm not crazy about bright or unique colors on cars, but somehow on M cars it is expected and accepted.

No, they won’t make that anymore. Should be Daytona. (Can’t confirm with that light.)

All these metallic colors are presented on the same day, same lighting and HS is the only one that the front bumper color is not matching other body panels close enough. This is the case with every single HS picture I have seen so far.

I agree. That's the only exterior body mod I will do. It looks really cheap.

The lime rock doesn't match.

Yes, noticed the darker hood on the Lime Rock Gray but again not sure if it's a metallic color so that's why I didn't point it out. In any case, this is probably a non-issue for many but still bothers me. It would bother me even more, if I paid $5K extra for the Lime Rock Gray and it came out like that.

Bumper and hood are not made out of the same material on the CS iirc, so it will never be perfect. LRG is just like HS with a non-metallic looking base but actually is metallic or pearl. I am not sure how much is optical illusion or effect of the paint.

Bumper and hood isn't made out of the same material in general not only for CS. It's usually plastic/steel, plastic/aluminum, or plastic/CF pairs. I understand a paint on plastic won't match 100% to a paint on a different material but it's usually possible to match it pretty close so that the difference is not noticeable to the naked eye. Look at other colors in the first post, none of them has the problem that HS has (except for the Lime Rock Gray). Ok maybe this isn't really a problem, maybe it's just the character of this specific color but at least it looks like a bad paint job. This can be seen especially in the unedited pics of HS:

Most don't realize how much metallic is in Lime Rock Grey.

Notice the darker rear bumper
