FAQ: Q: Can I test the connection before making a purchase? A: Yes, simply tap the MHD Store button. The ECU connection is checked before displaying available purchases. Q: Can I tune different cars with one license? A:Each vehicle has its own unique license (VIN and google account locked), tuning a different car requires purchasing a new license. Q: Can I tune multiple cars with one google play account? A: Yes, you can purchase multiple licenses with one google play account. Q: Can I transfer my licenses? A: Licenses are personal and stored by google along the account used at purchase time. The purchases are tied by google to the first account and can’t be transferred to a new google account. Q: Does my Android device need to be permanently plugged to the OBD port? A: No. Once a flash is performed you can unplug your device. Q: Do I need to purchase a new license each time I flash a map? A: No, you can reflash as many times as needed. MHD maps updates are free. Q: Is a battery charger required? A: It is highly recommended for long flashes (install, uninstall). A healthy battery will handle short flashes (map changes) fine but the use of a battery charger remains recommended. Q: How do I take good data logs? A: Press the Monitor (auto log) button, stabilize around 2500 rpm / 3rd gear (4th on 8 speed AT) with DSC fully off. Mash the pedal, shift at 6500 and 2-3s after the shift into 4 release the throttle. Slow down, stop the monitor. If you want us to review your log, then upload the log to www.datazap.me and send us the link. This Product is for Competition/Racing/Off-Road Use Only. Hell yes. Welcome to the party.
So there are no M2-specific maps, correct? How does that work since the M2 is in a higher state of tune than your run-of-the-mill N55 from 2013-2016? Looks like Stage 2 or Stage 2+ are the pump fuel options for this platform. Last edited by velociti; 12-21-2017 at 10:44 AM.. |

If there aren't specific M2 maps, then that's a big product differentiation from other current and upcoming flash options. Is there not enough economy of scale to worth the effort for MHD at their price point?

Martial, when unlocking via OBD can you obtain a full copy of the oem file? From speaking with other OBD unlock options tamper codes, flash counter and flash back to stock can be taken care of. However in the scenario where the car is flashed back to stock for a dealer visit and if they perform a software update the tamper and tuner codes will appear. Is this the case with your solution as well?
Just trying to decide between bench and OBD unlock. |

Also one of the other tune groups stated on the forum that you are able to flash the tune to the DME......but to flash back to stock the DME must be removed.
Is that still the case?

The regular N55 EWG maps are converted to the M2 specific rom and tested as we speak on our DCT M2. The car may yield slightly better result than other EWG N55. So the maps are not shared with the N55 EWG rom, but not very different either. Quote:

The tamper code was appearing if you did a software update at the dealership, and the boot loader was not overwritten (where the previous unlock patch was written). Now that we have full obd, we can restore fully the OEM bootloader. Problem solved. |

We'll do that in January. Dynojet are more rare here. I can state our M135i AT was doing a corrected 8.3 to 8.5s 100-200kmh on the 2+ 95oct/102ron map with just DP FMIC. We'll get corrected 100-200 times on the M2 and dynos in January. |

What MHD said here is M2 doesn't need a 360 crank PS(1PS=0.985hp) tune because it's 370PS from factory.
Improve English comprehension skill, Americans... Good job MHD! It's very confidence inspiring that the tuner has a m2 as shop car.

In stock form, the M2 targets less rail pressure above 5400 rpm than the 320hp N55s. It also runs a richer AFR. So the M calibration also had to make up with the weak HPFP. It's definitely the limiting factor for 2+, as the car is boost happy. We have to strike a good balance between AFR - rail pressure - boost (remember the jb4 will only affect boost so it has less wiggle room). |

That, or I have contact with 2 vendors working of upgraded HPFPs (which I would definitely prefer over PI).
Apple support may come, once we have finished the custom MHD wireless adapter. Those will come in due time. |
