Bilstein B8 struts on the M2, anyone?

I had B12 on my 120, which used B8 struts and I couldn’t be happier with them. I just happened to see Bilstein selling them for the m2 and I think it’s the best solution for non adjustable lower springs. Just wondering if anyone has it on the M2?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but these are not B8 but B6. Reference number is definitely B6. They are meant for stock springs. I would definitely have gone with Bilstein/Eibach setup if B8s were available for the M2.

Now you could take one for the team and try out the new coilover kit made by Eibach for the M2 it was my first choice but production delays meant I had to go with Ohlins R/T

The b8 are a shorter version of the b6. Given that they are shorter they work better with lowering springs; eibach et al. You can pair the b6 with eibachs.

Oh is it? The reason why I didn’t want to go for Eibach coilovers this time was because the struts were not made by Bilstein. However, H&R is pairing with Bilstein for its own coilovers for the M2, but I am afraid the springs are too aggressive for my liking.

B6 actually works as a direct replacement for stock suspension. So if stock struts can work with Eibach, so can B6. But since it was not made for shorter springs in the first place, sooner or later you would run into problems.

I don't think that the sachs struts that come with the Eibach coilovers will be that different from Bilstein in term of performance. And it gives you the opportunity to run the Eibach springs with a dedicated shock of the correct length.
Do you know who makes the springs for the Bilstein coilover kit ?
