Great looking car and great 0-60 times but the track numbers could use some improvement

But I’ll bite.

I would never drive a Golf or a Civic. Not even if it did the 1/4 mile in a milli second and pulled so many Gs that my brain bounced off of the back of my skull. A Civic driver is not BMWs target market. This is not a “M2 vs ...” thread that you apparently like to troll slamming the M2 any chance you get.

Any one of us here could have bought a Golf AND a Civic or a lightly used F80 M3 for the price of our M2s. Hell I could have gone lightly used M5 or M6 for not much more. You like others seem to miss the point that it’s not all about balls out speed.

“If it put down the same numbers as the M3” it would be even more out of your price range.

Stop trolling M2 threads.

Buying a car such as M2 is not a rational purchase, unless you might be tracking it.
That's the whole point of the commercial, being a kid, feeling like a kid. Kids like to be spoiled by nice toys

To me the first commercial is completely boring. Cool views, nice looking car, just like thousands of other commercials. I won't remember after a minute, now the second one has the potential to wake me up.

The second (Russian) ad seems idiotic...doesn't make much sense for M2. It seems like it's made by a kid.

Gotta hand it to the Russians, they don't worry about political correctness.

Maybe you don't understand the Russian market

Can you empathize with a person living in Russia? Put yourself in their shoes? The advertising company that did this ad is Fcb Moscow. I'm sure they understand their demo very well.

Im not talking about the concept. Im talking about the production quality. I have worked for projects all over the world. Concept it one thing, understanding and adapting is fine, however the quality of the profuction for Bmw should have been to the standard of their brand....

I am always surprised at just how poor BMW ads are, given the strength of the brand and the fantastic product range.
The latest 1 series ad currently doing the.rounds at the cinema features an Estoril Blue M lite, stars a bunch of millenials with perfect teeth and focuses entirely on connectivity. No mention of performance, handling etc. WTF, might as well buy a Fiesta with the same functionality and save yourself £15k !?

I'll be honest, I enjoy seeing the new ///M ads get released but I don't really get the whole ..."too much" campaign.

Personally, I think Audi do a great job with their ads... the infamous R8 V10 on the dyno.

^ They knew exactly who their core audience was and what they wanted to see/hear.

Look honestly man if you are buying these cars for their lap times and 1/4 mile times than you are buying them for the wrong reasons. These cars are meant to be enjoyed while you drive... not put down a lap time that you can brag about to your friends. Firstly, you will never be able to even come close to those numbers on your own with any of those cars. Secondly, if you thinks a Civic or a Golf is even close to comparable in terms of quality and refinement you are on some good shit. There is a reason it costs more and there is a reason it has more street cred than a Honda or Volkswagen.

Its about smiles per gallon my friend. Drive both and you will see why the bmw is the better car
