I didn't get to do a side by side comparison. Interested in why you think it's higher too. I was basing my opinion on what I remember from my M4 but some of my friends said maybe it's just in my head (I still think I was sitting lower in the M4).

Wasn't his best review, it's great at drifting but we knew that already. The whole M2 not fit for track didn't make sense at all. I suspect the M2 comp is so similar to the regular M2 its very difficult to come up with meaningful separation. I think if you drove them back to back there would be very little in it.
I'm a touch confused with the opening, when he talks about the competition badge needlessly ruining the suspension and adding ugly wheels which previous M car is he referring to? The M5 competition got glowing reviews all round. Did love the little windscreen wiper adjustment mid slide.. |

I figure he's not referring to performance or handling when he says the old M2 isn't up to track duty - I would hazard a guess he's referring to the M2Cs significantly improved cooling capabilities for the brakes and engine - and I think its probably a fair comment too.
M2C not only has bigger rotors (and of course calipers) but it has brake ducts in the front bumper angled right at the hats, that's gold for folks that like to track. Also S55 cooling is seriously no joke! Just 1 example is the intake temps - pop the hood after a spirited drive and sure you'll feel the heat of the engine but put your hand on the liquid-to-air intercooler, I swear it feels colder than ambient temperature.. idk how that's even possible? |

From the best modern M car to not up to snuff - lol. The more I watch his reviews the more I think he’s a hack automobile journalist (funometer 3000 -lol -gtfoh!)

"we love the original M2. It's the car that brought BMW back to a proper M car" "the original does so many things right in a world of boring numb overly polished pretenders" "awesome exhaust note" and on and on I don't read any of these reviews as trashing the M2. Maybe it's the engineer in me speaking, but if I've designed the "perfect" product, one that can't be improved in some way if I have time to re-examine, then I'm outright lying to myself. Everything can be improved.... So what I really read/hear in M2C reviews is "the M2 is a great car, and almost unbelievably, when BMW decided to do a mid-cycle refresh, they didn't F it up! Amazing!" The review feels a bit anti-climactic, especially compared to his OG M2 review. But I loved the crack about the wheels!
Full disclosure: M2C arriving in a few weeks!

His reference to the original M2 in this M2C review was puzzling, given what he commented in his Top Gear M2 review. Did someone spike his tea ?

Compared to his other reviews this was a bit disappointing. It felt like this was done in 20 minutes compared to the M2 review. I'm not surprised that he didn't complain about the sound because he actually likes the S55.

I wasn't sure of that was the ASD or maybe the OPF filter but I liked how it sounded.. It sounded horrible in the Vehicle Virgin video in comparison.. |

Because of those reviews my dealer's CEO(which is an acquaintance of mine) didn't order an M5 comp to drive for himself but a normal M5.... Cheers Robin |

I just hate the way he drifts that car easily through any turn there is on that superannoying track and the smoke it produces! I will call Greenpeace rightaway. Disgusting stuff! Cheers Robin |
