Heated steering delete DIY for M performance display wheel

Apologies for the quality of this DIY, this is my first write up lol

After installing the Mperformance display steering wheel in my M2c, the heated steering button delete has been something I’ve been wanting to do.

Although the installation instructions mention that a blind cover can be ordered, they don’t provide a part number. (If anyone knows the part # pls leave it below)

I scooped mine up from a local junkyard for $12 off of a f30 328i

1. the cover can be removed by gently prying it off with a trim tool.

2. Remove the key sensor

3. Transfer the inner skeleton with leather cover (there are six plastic clips that can be unhooked with a pry tool)

4. Snap the original key sensor into place

5. Connect the wire for the key sensor

6. Clip the trim into place

Done!

Why remove the button, apart from car OCD

When you or the next owner puts the OE wheel back on its a right hassle to put the button back again.
