Car Magazine UK article

https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-reviews/bmw/m2-cs/

Pretty flat and uninspiring review. I had a tough time following some of the analogies. Pretty sure there was a reinforcement of don't get cup2s if you value your safety. Brakes good, 6mt bad, twitchy chassis, if you've got the coin then why not, but you're not missing much if you don't.

Honestly, no one is going to say anything other than great things on the M2CS. Even if it is 10% better than the M2C, reviewers are going to say this is worth it blah blah.

The M2CS is the most hyped modern performance BMW. Also the most drawn out model in recent memory in terms of marketing. There is now a certain expectation that it has to be good or what is the point of this long wait...😂

I do not even see a scratch but, supposing one exists, that is purely cosmetic and should be an expected 'road war wound' . . . particularly with a 'track focused' vehicle designed to be, well, beat on.

Once you start beating on that M2CS over some NC back roads and track, the least of you concerns will be wheel scratches, paint chips, windshield nicks, etc that accrue. . . pushing the (safe) limits of the M2CS performance will become your primary, if not sole interest.

I'm glad you posted this. I was under the wrong impression that the blemish repair was included. We'll see what I can negotiate for the plan. I don't plan to PPF the car because the little dings and chips don't bother me. I do plan to ceramic coat it because I do like a clean car and don't like to spend a lot of time cleaning.
True, ceramic coat will allow easier cleaning of the car. PPF will definitely do as good a job as possible protecting it from dings and dents over time. It will just keep it a cleaner so maybe worth it for those who do NOT want touch up paint in the future.

Interesting, curios if the sensors will near included with the car or we'll have to spring for those too.

Here's the connection kit if it isn't already fitted.

So is this another revenue source for Michelin? What is this $500 kit going to give me? More accurate pressure and temperature readings (for on track readings?)??

Temp across the tire width (doubtful)?

That's one of the things I was trying to figure out - where the sensor was located, how good of surface temps it provides etc. Obviously real race teams use in tire sensing, but it's not the same as this. I think there is some value in temp and pressure profile over a session I guess, but not going to replace Pyro probe across the tread for checking alignment and pressure values it would seem.

The Michelin Connect user manual.

https://www.michelinman.com/on/deman...ser-manual.pdf

I have been a tire pressure fanatic for a long time. It takes awhile to figure out how pressure, ambient temperature and road conditions affect handling with a given cold temperature tire pressure. Sometimes the pressure needs to be changed mid drive. It's kind of an abstract art with many variables. This Connect app might make it all easier, but it's really a track tool.

I love data logging and datamining so it's just another way to geek out. Looks like they also make a ps4s connect tire as well. If I have to add the kit I'd probably pass, but if it were somehow integrated into the car I'd be all about it.

Is Hockenheim now listed as 1s faster than previous run. 1:54.8 vs 1:55.8? 6MT vs DCT?

Less than a second behind the 718 GT4, not to shabby. I'm still getting the slow version

45 kilos lighter than the competition as weighed. Lots of glowing commentary. I printed it and read it using Google lens.
