Hell take a future C8 Z06. Base C8 only got a 3.5% price hike to $59,995. That would put a C8 Z06 at $83,750 when it arrives.

Not even close. Look at the sales numbers of M4. Don’t confuse low production for demand. There were 2018 LCI and M2Cs sitting on lots near me.

It’s the favorite car of many but it’s a niche car.

Just shows how good of deal the M2 comp is. It essentially got a engine swap and cooling upgrade, etc...for $5k. Even GTS badges don't get swaps anymore for the huge price premiums.

Imagine if the M2CS showed up before the Comp. People would be saying the $83k makes complete sense because it got the S55 engine. Then they drop the M2 Comp for only $5k over the regular M2, people would be like WTF?

That's true, as much it works for a lot of us, a M2 platform is actually too small, entry-level or boisterous for most modern consumers.

However, it still has a very loyal following, we'll see how that translates into sales..

People! you are also forgetting that the car overall is lighter than the competition by at least 100lbs. Power to weight ration has gone up quite a bit after the 40HP bump.

Also, The CS is definitely faster at the Hockenheim GP track, the CS was 2 full seconds faster than the competition. that's a big gap.

Mostly because of the Cup 2 tires, though.

Yes, the M2 CS will only sell to hardcore BMW fans, just like the M3 and M4 CS. Great car, but I think this needed to be 75k to be a good value. I suspect the number of people willing to spend $85k on a 2 series is small. The only question is if they overestimated demand for it or not.

There is talk that the Audi TT is getting cancelled and not getting a new generation so not much of an option going forward.
The TT is finished. This is the last generation.

To me the 1st gen TT was a total classic...

Based on the comments this should be the litmus test if CS variants for BMW should live.

Not true. With optional CCB which is like a $8,000 option there is 43 kg weight difference.

M2C and M2CS without the CCB weight will almost be identical. The standard EDC shocks weigh on the M2CS more than the non EDC suspension from the M2c.

That's fine. I have an M2 Competition in the garage which I'm enjoying a lot.

8k gets you from base blue brake to CCB.

From red bbk to CCB, it may be half the cost.

According to “Road and Track” the M2 comp weighs 3,582 with a manual.

“Fastest laps . Com” has the CS weigh 3,377 which I’m assuming is with CCB. Without that option, it will be 3,418 with a manual.

So if this is accurate, it is about 164lbs lighter than the M2 Comp

Why would you buy this when the new M3 will be cheaper and faster?

84k base price good value if ur planning on decking ur car in carbon fiber. But it's way out of my budget. I have no regrets going m2c. If it was like 72k I would be sobbing in my sheets but with this much cf that would be a steal

Yeah that isn't going to happen. Same brakes as Comp but red.

They will be $8k.

Fastestlaps...lol. Might as well quote Wikipedia.

SportAuto weighed both. Their test M2CS was 94lbs less than M2C. CCB rotors make up 52lbs of that 94lbs. Hope you will spec CCB on your CS.
