Question Where are the stage 3 turbo owners?

Where are the stage 3 turbo kit owners? The N55 M2 is mature now and I know there are at least two Speedtech EFR kits installed, several Big Boost kits, and who knows how many other kits.

I’m looking for owners with stage 3 turbo kits to give us a review of their kit, any installation challenges, and how it has performed? I know there are a couple of teaser videos on YouTube, but no full blown reviews that I can find.

So, calling all stage 3 turbo kit owners... show us what you’ve got!

Stage numbers are so generic and arbitrary and meaningless.

I'm assuming he's just asking who has gone to any aftermarket turbo

Stage 1 turbo, AkA stage 1 hybrid = enlarged compressor + stock turbine + stock housing-manifold one piece.

Stage 2 turbo, AKA stage 2 hybrid = enlarged compressor and enlarged turbine + stock housing-manifold one piece.

Stage 3 turbo = entirely new turbo unit and new exhaust manifold

Stage 3 turbo is rare, because of the development cost (upward of 100K USD for mold opening and huge amount of testing) and the fact this option can be easily undercut by trading in for M2C for similar easy power and more.

Regarding the cost, wouldn't they be able to develop and sell it for (almost) any N55 equipped car?

Sorry, I figured most had seen my ULTIMATE Turbo Upgrade Thread. Turbo upgrade options for the N55 loosely fall into three turbo stages. These stage definitions are exclusive to the N55, as stages on different motors often have different meanings.

Stage 1: Hybrid turbo using stock housing with an upgraded compressor wheel. Similar spool to stock with more headroom to breath at higher rpm. Estimated 40-75hp gain.

Stage 2: Hybrid turbo using stock housing with larger upgraded compressor and turbine wheels. Typically have a slight delay in turbo spool (lag) from 300-700rpm but provide much better power to redline. Estimated 100-150hp gain.

Stage 3: Completely new turbo and manifold. Many of these kits were designed for other N55 applications and may require fabrication to fit onto the M2. Usually comprised of a ball bearing turbo with quick spool and higher overall hp potential. Estimated 150-400hp gain dependent on turbo selection.

Yes, and they do. Most if not all of the N55 stage 3 kits were designed for other platforms, primarily the F30, but work on the F87 or other N55 platforms with a little modification.
