Octane booster

Is there anything out there to boost octane without MMT that actually works?

Race gas or E85 are your only choices, or methanol injection.

I don’t know where you are in SE TX, but there’s a lot of E85 stations in Houston and a few around Beaumont.

I'm not really sure that my fuel pump is up for E85.

Along as the weather is above 60F you shouldn’t have issues with 2-3-gal of E85 in a fuel tank of fuel. It’s the easiest/cheapest way to get octane up over the threshold of the Stage 2 tunes, and it helps reduce timing pull.

Even the impact from just 2-2.5gal of E85 is noticeable.

The fuel pump will hold up?

Everyone’s HPFP is a little different and can handle different amounts of E85 depending on your base fuel, tune, mods, and outside temp.

In general, 2gal of E85 should work for everyone. Mine was fine with up to 3.25gal of E85.

Around here E85 is only a little more expensive than 93, even after correcting for differing energy density. Essentially, it cost me an extra $1-2/tank to go from 93 octane to 95-96 octane. Pretty good deal!

I've looked on line for E-85 in Beaumont TX and can't find anything definitive. In the mean time I ordered some Boostane Professional. I'll try an oz/gal to start. I'll also keep my ears and eyes open for E-85 around here as it seems to be the cheaper way to go, thanks.

Thank you for helping. I've seen the second site and they didn't list anything close. The stations in the first site are about a half hour from where I live so basically an hour round trip to fill up. I wish there was something local.

My closest station is 80 minutes away. I fill several 5 gal containers with E85. I use it to blend in a E30 or so mix for track days.

Same, I always haul 15-20gal of E85 to the track. Way cheaper than buying $10/gal 100 octane!
