I do think we will be getting some more concrete information with some pictures (Spyshot variety) sometime soon.

Fingers crossed. I really hope the CS is as anticipated. I don't want to wait for a GTS. I'm thinking that it won't be a GTS, but a CSL. So I'll likely hold out if CS falls short.

Or look at mid engine Corvette

Somewhere in Garching is a single location where all these test cars from the X and M divisions are just parked in the open where cameras are not allowed. Some of these cars will not even have camouflage on them.

Most of the people who see these cars everyday, do not even stop by to take a second look. All we need to do is get the location of this place and get a drone to fly in and take a nice video for us. I do not even think that it would be strictly illegal.

Just wondering what can be done to feed this curiosity.

Sunset is on par with Long Beach Blue - as Long Beach Blue changes color in different types of light.

Sunset Orange gets my vote! I also saw Valencia, which doesn't have the same sparkle as these two do.
Thanks for this post, very helpful!

Woaw. Just kidding obviously.

Never flown a drone and I do not think that there is a drone that can cross the Atlantic ocean. Happy to wait a little bit longer and let the anticipation build.

I'm over in the UK, but this thread seems to have all the news about the CS!

With regards to UK orders, your name is put on a list with BMW UK and BMW UK choose who is going to have a car , rather than allocating ex amount of cars to a dealer like they normally do. That's because the car is going to be a limited edition.

It doesn't really make sense why it would be a limited edition, unless they aren't making a GTS version. Let's hope they change their mind!

Hi,

Yes I went to a BMW dealership near me and was told not all dealerships will get allocations. How can I get myself on this list?

Even better go back to the E90 series...which the V8 sounds hard and solid every time you apply throttle.

The S55 ZCP sounds better than the standard S55 is because of the tune rather than the MPE. The muffler is there is to filter sound but can't add sound if the engine is not producing it. So no V8 or V10 or V12 sound is available with any exhaust system placed on the S55 or N55.

The S55 M2 CS has the potential to sound even better than the M4 ZCP with MPE if they get the tune right. I am sure having the right balance of 'appropriate sound' both from inside the cabin and from outside is one of the engineering objective that they have to tick off on.
S55 sounds inferior, mainly due to its twin turbo setup acting as two mufflers, so does N54. ZCP adds a few burbles at middle and lower rpm ranges that's appealing to untrained ears but at high up it still sounds like a broken can rubbing ground. They are basically two turbocharged 3-cylinders working together, which is why you rarely find a L6/V6 twin turbo engine in the market sounding good. Zero chance M2 CS will get away with that using S55.

I think the CS will have the current engine and the GTS/CSL will have the S55. So don't bother until 2019.

I wouldn't totally rule this out. Financially it makes sense to tune the current engine to get closer to 400hp than fit a S55. So maybe the S55 sounding M2 is the CSL after all?

I doubt there is room for BMW to beef up n55 to 400hp. To maintain a manufacture approved engineering margin, achieving this power goal will require a bigger turbo, a stronger LPFP and HPFP. The intercooler needs to be upgraded as well. This n55 can end up being a S55 with twin scroll turbo.

Testing, making and managing these new parts should cost BMW more than just putting in a detuned twin turbo s55.

That being said, I wish BMW would upgrading n55 fueling and turbo for m2 CS, so we base m2 owner, and the whole n55 community, can take advantage and upgrade with OEM parts.

Using a drone to invade privacy...?

May just have to award you creeper status.

This may have been answered before, but will the CS have rear seats?

See here.

Base M2 has folding head rests on the backseats as standard feature (code 5DC). If the M4 CS sets the example: not expecting to see those on the M2 CS. Would make sense that headrests will be integrated in the backseats alike on the M4 CS.

Same goes for the retractable armrest between the front seats of the base M2 (code 4AE): missing on the M4 CS so IMHO that's gonna be omitted too on the M2 CS.

Thanks. Thats good to know. 4 seats are very important for some people.

On that point. I wonder how usable the rear seats are. I have 2 kinds aged 10 and 8. Would they be able to squeeze in the rear seats? Thanks
