It was an incredibly simple and intuitive process and only took me about 15 minutes from start to finish to register the license and get the software system up and running on the laptop.

Flashing it for the first time took about 5 minutes because it has to open up the ECU. After that, it flashes the maps in less than 1 minute.

Now the car pulls much harder all the way to redline with the CS map and actually feels a lot like a naturally aspirated high revving engine. It truly transforms the car.

Other benefits are that gear shifts are smoother (particularly first to second gear) and I find that the exhaust is also a bit more aggressive.

Overall, I couldn't be happier so far with the Boostmod3 setup and easy of use. Light years ahead of other bench flashes and piggybacks in my opinion.

I will go back to the dyno in the next couple of days to try out the CS map and probably the Stage 1 map.
Do you have a 6MT or DCT?

I'd love to see results with 1.5-2 gallons of e85 in the tank to make sure full timing is being hit and to offset the Florida heat.
02-23-2019: Stage 0+ CS and Stage 1 Dyno Results:
100% stock hardware with no physical mods
93 Octane
Three medium fans with one directly in front of the intercooler
Closed hood

I tested the car in a different shop that has a better Dyno facility. Still suboptimal testing conditions of 88+ degrees and high humidity but better cooling fans this time.

CS Map (full adaptation):
428.54 WHP
436.05 WTQ

Stage 1 Map (only two pulls of adaptation):
464.63 WHP
498.59 WTQ

Hope this helps some of you!

So do you need a laptop to install the bootmod3 CS map? Problem is I don’t have a laptop. When my laptop broke I decided to get a desktop instead.

Any alternatives?

Maybe the next trip to the Dyno will involve a comparison of the CS vs CS+ vs GTS tunes and hopefully I can perform these test when it's not 95 degrees...

What’s the most popular method to use OBD agent or laptop?

Can the bootmod3 OBD agent be use on multiple cars? Say me and a buddy buy 2 bootmod3 tune licenses but only want to buy 1 OBD agent. Can we use it on both cars?

I think you need to hitup a different dyno...there's something screwy going on. Looks like they didn't hook up the spark pickup and they synced rpm at the wrong point. If that's not the case then there's something up with your car.

Why do you think that's the case?
The Dyno operator did floor it at different RPMs to start the various logs but other than that?

The crossing of HP and Torque at 5200 isn't smooth with the Stage1 curve. Also all the graphs are seemingly low in my opinion for a dynojet as the M2C's have typically made around 400whp STD on dynojets on 91 in 80+ degree heat. If another place is available to you I'd check it out and also ensure the dyno operator hooks up to rpm and keeps the kickdown - down.

Regardless there's no question the car is making more power.

How is the CS map only making 425 rwhp when that's what a stock 15 M3/M4 dynos on a dynojet? Was guessing it would be around 450 whp and the stage 1 would be closer to 480 whp.

Desktop is just fine, you could get a long ethernet extension to reach the car, but really its better to be in the same room as the car while your working on it.

I use a laptop but I have a 15m rugged ethernet extension so I can put the laptop on the work bench and sit properly in the garage when coding / diagnostics etc, much better than trying to balance a laptop on the centre armrest...

Hardware OBD agent is neat, but pricey.

I don't know much about dynos...like it's so confusing to me how different dynos give higher/lower values, but I think the thing to take away is how much gains there are.

Like, maybe...

Dyno 1 stock could be 400
Dyno 1 CS could be 440
Dyno 1 Stage 1 could be 480

And

Dyno 2 stock could be 380
Dyno 2 CS could be 420
Dyno 2 Stage 1 could be 460

You know what I mean?

...not sure if this is the right way of thinking about it, but that's how I interpret it.

Thanks for posting this! Really helpful info

Just curious, what is 93 octane in FL? Is it 100% gas, or Ethanol-laced E10 like most of the Midwest?
