Do you let anyone else drive your M2C?

Ok, I'm sure I know what most of the responses will be, but I'm actually genuinely curious. Do you let anyone else drive your M2C? Mines on order and I swear people are already asking to drive it when it gets here (I'm talking after pickup, so not anyone at the dealership).

I can't say that I plan on letting anyone drive it, but I'm hoping to also not do it in a rude way.

my wife drives it only under my direct supervision.

“I’m going to take it to the supermarket!”
No you’re not. You’re going to park right next to like a million shopping carts and it’ll come back with damage.

My wife drives it if she wants to and I plan on teaching my daughter how to drive a manual with it.

Wife drives it a bunch...commute, grocery store, movie theater, track (one time) and all over really. She'll even go out of her way to fill it up with E85 when she wants some go fast juice.

The perks of owning a manual transmission that no one else can operate; never having to say 'no'

Wife has zero interest. Kids are too young to drive. It's perfect.

Wife has no interest in driving. Kids ain't getting to drive it, maybe in a desolate place for a bit to try it out. I ain't offering to others. I know a friend who asked and he's a super car owner and enthusiast. I'll trust him with a drive with me.

Lol, I like the way you think. Mine's MT as well so maybe that will help. Although there are a lot of people who claim to be able t drive a MT that I probably still wouldn't trust.

Also it's a good anti-theft device too.

Actually the M2C is my wife's car, she loves it, and I mainly drive the CLS but we'll switch on the weekends since my daily commute is long and in traffic. She loves it so much that I have to take the keys and get in the M2 before she does if I want to drive it
Other than that, I've let a few of my fellow car enthusiasts friends drive it, of course with me in the car, and traction on, and I've let each of my sons drive it a few times, again, with me in the car and traction on.

I will be buying a manual too and will be using that car to teach my fiancé how to drive stick.

After a few years, this will be the family car, then I can get a Miata or something and don't have to worry about practicality!

I would take all the kids in my neighborhood for rides in it if they asked me. One at a time because I have my backseat removed. I had a route I'd take that involved doing a donut or two in a secluded parking lot, then going to an underground parking garage to hear the exhaust echos.

I asked one of their moms if she wanted to go for a ride after her kid came back going off about how much fun it was. She said "HELL NO. I wanna drive it!" I told her no because I had just got the car and even I wasn't comfortable with myself driving it at the time. They moved this past summer, but if the situation came up again, I have no problem with taking someone to an empty parking lot to drive it.

I'm not comfortable with anyone taking it on the street. Especially since I'm not sure how insurance works for that. Not sure if my policy cover it, and if it does, I don't want the accident on my record and my rates to go up. As is, I'm getting denied car insurance from other companies because I have ONE speeding ticket and a car accident where someone literally pit maneuvered me and was 100% their fault.

As long as I know the person, anyone can drive it. Don't need to be there either. I've been fortunate that a lot of people let me drive their cars so this is my way of paying it forward.

Plus it's not like it's some collector Ferrari. It's meant to be driven.

Nobody drives my car without me in it except at the BMW garage. So far I've only had 2 friends that "qualify."

Any friend or family that can use their left foot. My neighbor drove it with only 15 miles on it. My wife almost curbed it at 24 miles 🤷*♂️
I don't drive it in winter (salt) but otherwise it's fine to use it for its intended purpose - on the road. I doubt it's as fragile as a Lotus, Ferrari, or Lambo so I'm not worried.

Yup, I’ve let most of my friends (who are into cars) drive it. I’m in my late 30s so I’m not worried about dumb kids crashing it.

I don't let people (outside of immediate family) drive my cars and I don't like driving other people's cars either.

Yeah I wondered about that too. I'm not sure I want anyone else behind the wheel on the street (other than family). I would have to trust the person wasn't going to be a bonehead and try to really get on it. I would also have to be in the car for sure. Maybe it's something I'll get over as the new wears off, but for now you guys all seem a lot more relaxed about it than I am right now
