I am thinking of just doing ceramic pro on my wheels to make them easy to clean |

I just didn't list them properly-- they're things that I can't purchase until the car is here. Tires will be within 50 miles as well. |

The old stuff yellowed and cracked-- the new materials used are pretty amazing. I've had it on several vehicles for almost 15 years with no issues. Ceramic coating is sort of a step above wax, and can last for years. It's extremely hydrophobic and helps keep the car luster up and the dirt content down. It basically bonds to the paint-- sort of like an "extra" clear coat. R. |

As to cost? How much do you want to spend? Wrapping the front of the Miata? About $1200 bucks. Full wrap on a high-end SUV? Could be $10,000. I figure the M2C will be around $2-2,500. R. |

PPF definitely protects from rock chips. I've seen quotes for about $6000 for the full M2c wrap. The full front clip is usually around $1500-$2000 (even shopping around it's in that ballpark). The recommendation I've seen on the forums is to do the full front clip, rocker panels, and then a larger piece on the rear quarter panel (to take the place of the OEM piece) at a minimum. I'm probably going that route myself. For those three items it's going to be about $3k. The guy I'm having do it though is a pretty high end shop (mentioned it before; he's done Ferarris and other high end stuff and I've seen pictures of his work. He's super methodical). Below is a picture of the area on the rear quarter someone outlined on another post of the area to do:

At the risk of a bit of thread drift (but obviously of interest if you're in "The Wait" for an M2C--
Here's my PPF plan: - 36-48" up the hood, then dropping down from cut line to front half of front quarter panels - Entire front bumper - Headlights - A-pillars - Rocker panels - Area behind front and rear wheels (determined by body flare) - Area in front of rear wheel (where OEM PPF is). OEM PPF will be pulled and new PPF will cover the entire area from the door edge to about 4" below the dogleg - Horizontal portion of rear bumper below trunk - Curve at bottom of fuel filler door (so gas nozzle doesn't scratch paint) I *thought* about a full wrap, but I'm happy to do this-- and then ceramic coat the car. That should be enough protection for me. |

The crank hub fix would be after warranty and just for piece of mind since I pretty much intend to be buried in this car! R. |

I am scheduled next week for a full PPF wrap + full tint at $5500. That's a lot of money but I like the peace of mind.

I feel the same way. This could be the last M car with a manual hand brake instead of a lousy button LOL.

There have been a fair number of cases where water from the install travels down into the trunk and fries the amp. Just something to keep an eye on. |

Thanks for the tip! Taking it to a reputable shop in Boulder but I'll definitely warn them about this.

To my knowledge, rear don't exist. IND has some (front only) from Autotechnic as well-- but I think they're a fair bit smaller than the the AP ones. But that's just a guess based on looking at pictures. R. |

I wonder if they're worth the $90 if ones already spending quite a bit of coin on PPF? Anyone have those Arch Guards that can say if they are worth it?

To me, they'll be worth it-- even though I'm not thrilled with the look, I consider it cheap insurance on an expensive toy, PPF or not. R. |

Best guess? +/- $3000, with another $1200 or so for ceramic coating.

I'm unsure about spending so much more. I already saw a paint chip today. I scraped my wheel at 300 miles (which I got fixed today). This never happens to me. I think I'm good for a while now...I'll just enjoy the car. LOL
