Off topic; any perceived difference in sound/power with the BMS intake? I bought one, just waiting to install it. Being impatient, I had a K&N drop in, put all of about 10 miles on it, then realized the BMS intake would fit our M's..

How was the install??

Thanks for any info

20 min. Simple installation. Lots of intake sounds. Looks fantastic.

Thanks to both of you for the input...

It's funny, prior to picking up the ///M, I told myself I'd keep the cat stock. Who was I trying to kid? Modding is contagious...

Cheers, we're glad you're liking it! Post up a video for all to see!

Talk to the gentleman above.

Here is a video of an M235i with just our Sport Cat for additional reference. We'll do our best to keep generating content.

The Catbypass Pipes allow for a quicker spool, and we've seen better low end power as a result (Around 10 ft-lbs at 3,000 RPM). The 200 cell cat won't hold you back too much power wise. If you are tuning the car, the power gap will widen a bit.

Thanks for that! Did that M235i also have an intake? I thought I heard some more air swooshing noises than usual, but it could be because it was in an enclosed garage. Once I get settled, I may buy the sport cat and get a BMS Intake as those would add a slight bit of HP and some nice noises. I went through an underpass yesterday and revved it up in second gear and the M2 sounds awesome stock, but man to have some more noise would be fantastic, haha!

Edit: There was an intake! I found this in the YouTube description:

2016 BMW M235xi
- Stock Exhaust
- Fabspeed Sportcat Downpipe
- aFe Magnum Force Stage 2 Intake

You absolutely will hear more turbo noise as a result of the downpipe. We can hear Bobby's turbo from inside the building when he leaves!

Can you explain how the muffler bypass differs from an Axle-back? Also did the Y-pipe change the sound at all?

Technically, you could consider this an axleback. It mates to a factory break point. The Y-Pipe does not really alter the sound of the N55, other than adding volume, greater tone, and more crackles and burbles.

I have a question for Fabspeed.

What is the difference between this 200 cell sport cat downpipe for the M235i and the more expensive other, which really looks exactly the same, for the M2.

The first one is $1,195 here http://www.topgearsolutions.com/fabs...-downpipe.html and the other is $1,560.43 on your site here http://www.fabspeed.com/bmw-m2-f87-sport-cat-downpipe/

Honestly they really look the same...

For those who has bought a sport cat, does it throw the engine light? Easy installation?

Hmm, for me they are. I wonder if it's because you are in Canada. I know for a fact that the Fabspeed website is $1,195 because I even got a direct quote from them (plus they are offering 10% off right now).

If you look at both of our links, yours is in CAD and mine is in USD. I think it's taking consideration for currency exchange?

No CEL, no issues at all. Installation? For me it was a piece of cake (FabSpeed did it for me) But it should be a direct bolt on..
