Flat tire after 7k miles

Hi all,

This is my 3rd flat in Southern California in 6 years.

Luckily I just got home. Driver side rear. It takes air from my pump, but loses slowly 5 psi in like 30 minutes. Hissing sound but can't find the nail.

I assume the origin Michelin Pilot Sport does not have any road hazard warranty. There is obvious no spare or jack that comes with M2C.

My options:
1. using the jack from my other car, take out the tire and drive it to a shop.
2. use the BMW flat tire kit... and hope the M2C makes it to my BMW dealer.
3. call insurance for a tow (but BMW dealer is probable outside the whatever radius limit) to get to a dealer.

Suggestions?

Personally I would go with choice 1. Patch repairs are generally very cheap

The fix a flat will make a gooey mess and is just meant for you to immediately limp to the nearest shop for repair.

If you can find the nail you can plug the tire with those tar rope kits which will drastically lower the leak and sometimes can eliminate it as well. But still generally recommended to get it patched inside afterwards

1.

That's what I did. They'll also properly assess whether it is safe to fix.

Definitely # 1.
Mechanics hate when they have to work on a tire after someone uses the tire sealant goo! Plus the patch on the inside is the best way to repair the tire.

Just another vote for #1.

with that many flats, you might want to consider investing in a spare tire kit - either a space saver (I think I read that someone found an X5 spare fits the M2C???) or just a full size spare wheel and tire. Obviously this takes up your truck but it might be preferable to being stranded with a flat that can't hold air long enough to make it somewhere.

I used a manual tire pump and drove the car to Discount Tire. They fix flats for free and if it needs to be replace they match Tire Rack prices.

Unfortunately I had to buy a new tire because I had a nail in the sidewall.
