I normally check tyre pressures with a manual gadget, not just rely on the TPM systems.

Tyre pressures will increase with heat, so you want to let some pressure out of the tyres before you go out.

Then after a few warm up laps, check them again and see if they're gone up to the correct pressure with the heat and keep an eye on them.

I normally take a cigarette lighter powered pump, I use the hand held gadget to let pressure out and measure. Then if I need to, put some more pressure in using the electric pump. And obviously put them back to the levels instructed on the car once it's cooled down before getting back onto the public roads.

First track day I went on, I just used the correct pressure as detailed on the door sill. And after about 4 laps, I checked and they were quite a bit over, I don't remember the figures but me and my buddies were surprised they had not exploded.

Yeah I forgot about the tire temp air pressure thing. I brought a gauge with me and before heading out for each session I’d check tire pressures and adjust as needed. Bring some kind of pump or tank to fill back up afterwards. You can expect a huge pressure increases as they get hot.

Want to add, painter's tape might be good. If they ask you to tape a number to your car.

If you go a 2nd time, I'd definitely swap brake fluid and get track pads. My fluid boiled the 2nd track weekend I did and had to flush and add a more track focused fluid. I swapped pads from the beginning and was happy I did. Probably not necessary for your first outing though.

Watch YouTube videos of drivers driving the track in the configuration that the HPDE is set for (CW / CCW). Don't think you'll learn everything by doing this, but it'll give you track perspective.

Get the inspection done and go in with an open mind.

Try to soak in all the information including simple concepts from the classroom sessions.

On the track you'll be taking in a lot and it can be overwhelming. Stay calm, look up and pay attention to your surroundings including flag stations.

Be polite and don't be over confident.

Listen to your instructor.

Have fun!

What is the DOT rating on the standard brake fluid? I switched all my fluid to DOT 4 for my S2000 and i'm curious if its something should just do for the M2 as well

DOT4 is standard. Usual recommendations: ATE Gold 200, Motul RBF 600/660, Castrol SRF.
