Economical Way to Get Black Kidney and Side Grills?
What is an economical way to get black kidney grills and side grills without spending 500 dollars on iND for four plastic pieces? eBay parts are cheaper but many have fitment issues.
Since the grill surrounds and the chrome piece on the side grill is removable, has anyone tried to wrap them or plastidip them? I am looking to have a gloss black finish, not matte black. |

For grill surrounds buy the OEM 2 series black grilled and swap out the surrounds. I bought mine new for about $80-90

I did these from IND. You keep your inner slats but install new "surrounds". I went from the chrome to the black but there are other colors. I thought there were very well painted...
https://ind-distribution.com/collect...e-surround-set I thought these were very economical unless you want to paint yourself. Gills I went OE CF so can't help there... |

You can have both the front kidney grilles and side grille pieces wrapped gloss black for a fraction of the cost of just buying the front piece! That's what I did - looks the same, and obviously perfect fitment bc its still the OEM piece.

However since then he has left that dealer and they also no longer do aggressive parts pricing. A quick search online now I see those grilles going for 120-140 now. Look on bmwpartspros is my best suggestion |

Still would be great to hear of any experiences with black surrounds purchased over eBay especially in terms of fitment with the original grills. |
