Not sure if it helps anyone. I plan to order a gold set for my M2 CS, and my SA said they'd give me a credit for the set that ships with the car. I thought this was very nice of them. Plan to do Hockenheim Silver with gold wheels.

Dave any news from your dealer about M2 CS start of production? Or are we to assume March 2020?

No news here. My SA is honest about the fact that he learns more from the forums than BMW corporate.

I think the rumors support seeing the car late 2019, and deliveries early 2020. If we get a surprise at Pebble Beach or Goodwood, then we could see deliveries late 2019, but that doesn't seem to be inline with typical pattern.

Hello,

From my SA ,he is saying not this year, only arriving in 2020.

Let´s hope they are wrong.

Haha, I'm hoping for 2020 so I don't have to carry my lease payment and CS payment for too long. I guess I could just sell the Jag to the dealership while I'm there since they share a parking lot.

Interesting article. Makes me wonder why they don't just include the CF fenders. Seems like the CS is getting the rest of the parts.

https://www.bmwblog.com/2019/04/22/r...on-everything/

Edit: I found an old thread discussing M3 fenders. Seems like CF fenders saved about 6lbs total. Likely not worth the cost if going for pure function.

Agreed. It's still possible that the car will have the fenders, and BMW simply don't want to show their hand through with all the spy spots that are circulating.

This M2 Competition featuring several M Performance Parts was spotted last week at BMWNA: see this thread ("Spotted @ BMW NA Parking Lot - Some goodies with and without camo").

The M2 CS is bound to be kitted out with several CF bits (such as splitter, hood, roof, diffuser), but no integrated 'ducktail' à la M2 M Performance Parts CF tailgate. M2 CS test mules feature an add-on CF trunk spoiler à la M3 CS and M4 CS.

12/2022 production begins for G87 M2. That will be the first time the S58 goes into a M2.

So the G87 is getting a S58? Is that verified?

No, but 12/2022 would the first chance a M2 would get the S58.

M2 CS parts list

I'm not sure if this has been done before here. I did this for my own potential shopping list so I thought I'd pass it along. These are the M2CS rumored parts at a decent discount without installation/paint work costs. There will probably be more parts added to the CS so I came up with an extra $3000. for misc parts.

US dollars
Front Splr : 1267
Rear Splr : 761
Rear Dif : 847
763M, SC2 : 4907
CF roof : 2300
CF hood : 4806
CF Fenders : 3600
CS Misc : 3000

Total 21488

Who knows what the M2CS MSRP will be, but this is what it would cost to upgrade an M2C to the M2CS with just those parts. That makes the base M2C an 80k car plus parts installation and paint work costs.

What about all the internal mechanical improvements that you can't put a specific price tag on, like the M Adaptive Suspension.

For M specific vehicles, there is a lot of technology that goes into the Adaptive Suspension setup. For instance; the standard vehicles with AS uses the speed data reading from the transmission sensor but the MGmbh version has accelerometers for each individual wheel.

There are also a few parts in which magnesium and titanium material is used in lieu of aluminum or steel. 💰

20k MSRP over the M2C sounds about right for the CS but an individual list is not an exact science in predicting the potential price difference.

Of course not, that is why I stated that that is what it would cost to upgrade the M2C with just those parts. That was not a M2CS price estimate.

Almost certain it would come with S58 I'd think....

....although I'd find the P48 acceptable ...just maybe not the 6000km service life.

Dont forget, only reason M2 got S55 cause of emissions. The B58 has no current issues with that and it could be a possibility for the next gen M2. Better way to market the M4 by using the B58 vs S58 no?
