Who else on here wants a Yaris GR?!
Ok not a Vs thread as totally different cars but this little hardcore Yaris has so much appeal and apparently a superb manual box.
Anyone tempted on here? Plus this with snow tyres on would conquer just about anything in a UK winter! There may even be a GR MN version with 300ps. I think in the states you will not get the Yaris bit rumours of a Corolla version in 2-3 years are surfacing... |

Spent most of yesterday evening reading the reviews on them. They have got great acclaim from nearly every one out there.
That being said there is a long wait (12 months) to order and don't think they will hold their value that well due to the numbers they will build. Would make a good second car though as a little fun daily! |

Bargain of a car here in Australia at $45k. No brainer to get one of these over a VW GTi at the same price point. The reviews have raved on about the quality of the manual shift and mechanical feel. Makes me wish that BMW spent more time on producing a excellent gear shift and feel on the M2! |

Yes. I definitely want one. I won't do it, but damn is it ever a cool ass car. I watched so many videos on the car never once thinking I would actually buy it but it is that exciting.

Absolutely. I would take a GR Yaris over an m2CS and I'd be ok paying over sticker.
Car looks to be phenomenal. Sign below: https://www.change.org/p/toyota-cana...canada-and-usa |

It's the modern day equivalent of the Version 5 STI or EVO 6 before those cars went to shit & way cheaper than they were back in 1999, hence they are selling like hot cakes here. I have 2 friends with them already, I've moved on from that type of car now or I'd have one on order. The aftermarket performance industry will thrive on this car for years too.

Having said that, I've pretty much watched every review on YT for this car and absolutely love it. I love what it stands for, the looks, the performance and the fun factor. Cars like this just don't come around very often these days. For what it's worth, I'm a huge Toyota fan too, but mostly because of their trucks and SUV's. I'd love to add something like a GR Corolla if they ever bring that to the US.

If the GR Yaris was offered in the US I'd buy one today. Wouldn't have to think about it for a second, I'd just buy it.
FWIW, I currently have a Fiesta ST that I have as a do-it-all car...daily driver, modified for track days, roof rack and snow tires for skiing, hitch rack for mountain biking...so a GR Yaris would be an excellent upgrade. Sigh. I guess I'll just hope these rumors are true about Toyota and Subaru collaborating because I don't think I can bring myself to buy a Velostar N https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a3...t-hatch-rumor/ |

I'd think the Yaris GR would be over $45k USD here in the US. I sit here saying that I'd TOTALLY buy one...but then I picture myself at the Toyota dealership with my checkbook and think that I was insane. It's still a Yaris. Bring it in at $33k kitted up and I'm in but I don't think they'd sell it that cheaply here.

$45k would seem high after my wife and I bought a Yaris in 2008 for $14k for everything out the door!
I would 100% be in at $40k. That's still in the range of what a new STi costs or what the Golf R and Focus RS were listed for when available. I'd happily pay a few grand more for a smaller size, less weight, and something I wouldn't need to significantly modify. Apparently I'm in the minority since Toyota crunched the numbers and didn't offer the car here. |
