Son of a b*tch. They took my idea of just the 3 decal stickers on the front bumper. And now I'm debating stealth again ahead of my 9/26 ultimate install.
I do not like you right now, Chris. I had a plan as of 5 minutes ago and now I don't!

OP, it looks great! Edit: Just realized OPs job was precut and not custom. The 7K to 10K is for custom work. Makes me question if custom is even necessary anymore. |

Just a question with the paint protection that I don't quite understand.
Why bother? I mean in 3 years when I sell the car I could probably guarantee that you're not going to get 5k back even with some chips etc? Is it just a personal thing? I've noticed there seems to be a bit of a cultish paint protection thing going on in this board. |

articulatedsphinx, here are several reasons. Some keep cars for many years. Less worry about the outside elements. Not everyone has a garage. Saves your paint from minor keying, this happens often in bigger cities. Easier to maintain, PPFs self heal to some degree. You can have a garage queen and a track queen.
As for the satin/frozen finish, it combines protection with a different look. Definitely cheaper than repainting the car. With that said, PPF is likely a sunk cost. Unless the car rises to collector status, it's not monetarily worth it. |

Ah okay I totally get it! I'm not judging just curious, I'm in a big city (melbourne) and will be using mine as a daily driver so she's going to be ridden hard and put away wet.
The thing in Melbourne is that everyone and their dog has a BMW/AMG/some ridiculous supercar and values tend to be high in Australia in general. But I completely understand the passion behind it! I love keeping my car clean and am a bit obsessive with washing weekly. |

Wow, right at 1:15, that's NOT how you do it.
However, thanks for the video, wasn't sure how matte was going to look on HS. I thought it would turn out darker, but it is a nice frosty silver. Pretty cool. My MG car is matte and I'm debating stealth or a color change. Looks very nice. Oh, why do it? Well, you create a very unique car, not that an M2 is common, but chances are no one around will have a car like yours. Not only is it cool, you get chip paint protection. But that is not it. You protect the paint on the ENTIRE car. No more waxing or polishing. No fancy soap for washing. The stuff is awesome, bird poop comes right off without a mark. Bit of a crazy expense on a $60k car... on an exotic, I certainly wouldn't live without it. Last edited by ryem3; 09-14-2018 at 03:05 PM.. |

SO will probably look amazing with this treatment. I would love to do it to my car but it's too expensive for me and I just had the whole front done with suntek yesterday. Maybe a future project.

I bet it would look pretty close to the new Z4 launch color, frozen orange.
