Good choice! a more durable filament vs. PLA that's for sure, and easier to print than ABS (though not as strong) but a good balance.

All materials are a trade off essentially, ABS might be stronger (some variants) but has more shrinkage and warpage than PETG. We used ASA before and that also works great, more durable than PETG and UV resistant but "harder" to print.

It's fully streetable. The ducts on the control arm are 40 mm lower which makes them about as low as the front bumper, if you have a splitter they're not as low. As you can see in the pictures the control arms sits higher than the bottom of the car and the ducts appear closer to the ground because the car is lifted with a jack so the suspension is resting at it's lowest position.

I think the wheel hub, control arms etc are too different. But I'm not 100% sure.

A guy in Sweden recently reached out and asked me if I could make backing plates for a F22 so it's in the pipeline, however he will change over to M2 control arms. If you have some measurements of the lower control arms I can check if the ducts would work. I'm pretty sure they fit but I suspects the F22 control arms are a bit shorter so that might be a issue.

Installed a brake cooling kit on a BMW F82 M4 CS today. Couldn't use the hose holder on the control arm because of a different design on the sway bar so I only used the upright hose holder, worked out nicely anyway.

Bump! Track season is around the corner or have just started, perfect time to get some brake cooling.

I am very interested. Is the $350 kit for one axle only, or two? If one only, will this kit work front and rear or does it only fit on the front?
Thanks! |

The kit is for the front axle only, I guess the duct could work in the rear as well but I don't have a backing plate made for the rear yet. I'll get to it in a few weeks and a rear kit will be made.

I was thinking about this kit again (extremely nice and I really love it) but I was wondering if you could add a second scoop that directs air to the caliper itself, this way it might stand a chance against color shifting, and further prevent brake fade.
Overall awesome kit I really like it!

I don't really know how I would fit another scoop to direct air to the calipers, I have to think about it. I have a couple few kits in use in Sweden, I have constant contact with the M4 CS owner and a M4 owner. Both car have stock brakes (M4 CS ceramic and M4 small stock brakes) and none of them have any brake fade anymore. The M4 with blue calipers was at a trackday with me last sunday and his calipers is still blue after that trackday, he'll be going to more trackdays this summer. I'm installing brake cooling on my M2 tomorrow as I'm going to Nürburgring on wednesday, completely stock brakes but with fresh racing brake fluid. I'll keep you posted.

Interesting glad to hear the kits are working well! I am wondering how well this kit will do with titanium brake shims and serrated brake pistons, these little mods will further help reduce heat transfer to the caliper body and brake fluid. But I was thinking if you either maybe stack another scoop or put a second scoop right next to it and have it just direct/aim air to the caliper body itself that would be really helpful, no need for piping or anything. BTW have you made any progress towards a rear kit? Keep up the good work!

As far as I know none of the guys here in Sweden are using titanium brake shims or have upgraded the pistons, but I could ask them. I'll think about how I could make an extra duct for the calipers and if I find a solution that could be an optional extra. I've been very busy lately so I haven't come around to it yet, but I promise I will get to it during summer.

I've had a lot of people messaging me about the brake cooling kit and I really appreciate the interest! During summer I had a lot of problem with the printers and having a lot of other things to do I gave up on fixing them and ordered a new Prusa. The new printer was supposed to arrive during quarter 3 but it was post poned due to component shortage, the new estimated delivery is in January 2023.
With that said my patience with 3D-printing as a manufacturing process have reached it's end. Moving forward I will look into making my products in carbon fiber instead and only use 3D-printing for prototypes, one off's, moulds and complex parts. I can't give you an exact date when I'm gonna get there but I will update this thread when I know more.

I have held out from posting this so as not to cannibalize sales from Westersund, but given the above post I hope it’s ok for me to go ahead and post this. Please let me know if you would like me to remove this post.
I purchased a kit from our good friend above but then due to converting all my suspension components to SPL adjustables, there is no longer a nice rectangular-section lower arm to secure the scoops to. I therefore never installed the kit, and I would be happy to re-sell to whomever wants. I also purchased some quality SCAT tubing that I would include for a full set-up. If you’re interested, please drop me a PM and we can work something out. -Ash |
