Thank you for all your inputs. Listing at $43K seems to be in the right range. Most of the sports car owners buy sports car to have fun and beat the heck out of it. I bought it just because I want to see it in my garage every day. So my M2 is probably the only preowned M2 that has been pampered since new.
I will started listing it tomorrow and will come back to this post to let you know the outcome. Hopefully it will find a good home by September. |

Having said that, now I know this is probably the last thing on your mind, but if you believe in karma, maybe someday in the near future, you'd find yourself shopping for a M2C or even the M2CS as an upgrade/reward? Regardless of what lies ahead of you as far as automotive is concerned, you sir, are a model citizen. Your daughter is very lucky to have you! |

So sorry this has happened to you. Youre a good man for putting your dream car aside. I am gauging the value around 40-42k depending on location tbh. I hope you are able to sell and help your daughter with her finances

Yeah, that sounds about right. With M2C mid-low 50s new with discount, and used M2Cs available, I don't see how a 15k mile car that had an MSRP in the low 50s is going to realistically sell in this environment for much more than $40k now.

So I couldn't sleep last night and was browsing BaT and found this https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...competition-6/
2019 M2c for 46,500 If I were you, I'd have your daughter skip a semester if possible and slowly sell the M2 for low 40ish. Best of luck. |

It really is unfortunate that you must sell. Hindsight 20/20! The good news is that most cars over 2 years depreciate up to 40%. Selling at 40K on a 55K purchase puts you less than 30% depreciation. There really is no win on this, just mitigating the losses. One win, your daughter is going to college!! Kids, gotta love em!

OP, you are a good dad! It would break my heart to sell mine but I would in a second if it was needed to help my kids. Having said that this will be a tough sale to pull off. There are far less buyers in the market now than perhaps any time in history. A buddy of mine sold a 2017, DCT, exec, xpel etc with 6,000 miles for 42k in March. It took him about 4 or 5 months to sell it and things have changed a lot since March.
I sold my X3 to Carvana recently because 4 cars for 1 driver is a bit much. Their offer was 4k less than late January when I first considered selling it. That is substantial. |

Asking prices is a good data point, but only one factor to consider. Actual selling prices is what matters. I recently sold my 2018 M2 with 6K miles, equipped like the OPs but also with MPE and the addition of factory (port) installed carbon fiber bits, all of them except the rear splitter, plus wrap and installed K-40 radar/laser detector. And tint. MSRP was $72K-ish. I listed it in March at $48K, got zero interest in it until I lowered the price to $45K. That got it sold, which took a month because of the lockdown, at which point the buyer's wife was furloughed and he had to back out. I sold it, again, to a gentleman in CA which took another 3 or 4 weeks to work out logistics, funds, etc. before it finally left here last week. The value of all of those options can range from negligible to a few thousand, depending on the buyer. Best of luck to OP.

I'm laughing... right now used car values are going UP not down. Dealers are reporting record months in terms of used cars (new not so much, apparently they are not making any ).

Thanks everyone for your inputs. Finally I posted it for sales in the members Classifieds section. I will post it in the Autotrader tomorrow and see which one attracts more buyers. I will also post the final selling price when it is sold.

Data point: A 2018 M2/6 in LBB with 7K miles just sold on BaT for $41K. With buyer's premium, that's $43K.
