Ok guys and girls, I received my production number weeks befor the COVID crisis hit. my build date ended up being 1 week AFTER BMW closed their factories. 8 weeks later Leipzig openes up and after a week of my bugging them, my dealer still cant tell me the status of my car. On the build tracker, my production number is gone and Im not sure what happens next. My dealer's last voice mail was that the car will be built, but it might end up being a 2021?

Does anyone have better information regarding cars that are in a similar situation? will they start building 2021s now or will they wait until that model year SOP? (when is that?)

I'm in a similar situation, production order confirmed mid Feb 20 for a 14 Apr build commencement (Aus delivery).

Still no news from dealer of my build status since Leipzig has reopened. They said they would get back to me Mon.

I do however know of others who have put in orders post COVID and already got build slots for delivery later in the year.

I'm also on this boat, hopefully scheduled for July 2020 build due to their need to fulfill other customer orders, however I have been told to even expect August build worst case scenario.

Same here, ordered end of February through the diplomatic sales program for a build scheduled in early May, my dealer told me the car should now be built first week of June, so more or less 3-4 weeks later than scheduled. We'll see how that goes...

My car was scheduled for production early May and delivery late May.

I got an update last week that its now due to go onto production 6th July with delivery around 27th July.

So I am stationed at Stuttgart and ordered my M2C from Stuttgart BMW Military Sales back in early March. I got my VIN and build code 150 on 13 May. Told my build is week 23 and delivery is week 24. That comes out to first and second week of June. Military Sales is not a dealer but BMW themselves so I'm told their customer allocations are prioritized over dealers but who knows for sure. Also, my purchase order shows as a 2020 model. Good news is M2Cs are being built.

Was originally scheduled to be built 14 Apr, new build date 23 May (production commenced). I have a VIN and build status 150 on 12 May.

great news! im hoping for the same on Wednesday when my sales rep gets back to work! keep us updated as your status changes!

Status update, got 150 status on 13 May and 190 status on 5 June. Expected delivery is next week here in Stuttgart. Things are moving along

Good news. Every little bit helps! I unfortunately am still stuck in no mans land. I am hearing a semi-confident "Build date in July" from my dealer. Maybe they are filling the European market orders first?

I don't mean to rub it in your face. I only post my update so people know they are being built. Also, the dealers seem so uninformed about so many things. My guy seems to think there will be no '21 M2Cs in any market, and he works directly for BMW.

I definitely didn't take it that way. We all live vicariously through others on this forum while we wait. Not sure what to believe anymore. However it seems absurd that BMW does not issue a statement that outlines what its intentions are. It's been 3 weeks since Leipzig opened. Sophisticated manufacturing takes planning, they have a plan at this point.
