yeah its not in the Permanent errors, but I'm not able to clear it either..

I was guessing its due to one of the preselected codes on bimmercode, just not sure which one it is

It allows for more wheel slip and more of a drift angle when cornering because traction control is less obtrusive.

I didn't see it listed but can one do the anti-dazzle for the LED lights on the 2017 M4 via this app or could it be added as a feature if not? Also I know I can use BimmerLink to toggle the state of the exhaust flaps but can that done via BimmerCoder? Thanks.

Well, I was ready to do this, but am hesitant now after reading the last few pages. It appears a lot of the issues with the "basic" coding are on LCI models. Has anyone confirmed this?

Also, can you code the car to start in sport mode?

Finally, is the "exhaust flap open" compatible with MPE?

I have a pre-lci so can't help you with that one.

Pre-lci/lci, you can't code it to start in sport mode.

No, MPE comes with a manual bluetooth controller which opens the flaps anytime you want in any mode , it's totally independent from the car, unlike the stock exhaust.

The newer the car the more likely it is that it may have some bimmercode compatibility issues because of the newer istep version the car will come with. Updates to the bimmercode app are fairly regular so I wouldn't be concerned about this in the long term. You shouldn't let that deter you.

No. MPE does not retain stock valve operation, it uses it's own bluetooth controller.

If you have adaptive headlights then yes it can be coded in. If they are not adaptive then no.

Here is how to code VLD and GFHB with bimmercode:

No, only bimmerlink has the valve control feature.

Didn't have any issues with MY18. Even coded using advance mode. All good.

LCI seems to take a few attempts to get a good read of the coding, but write always works fine.

How’s Bimmercode compared to Carly?

Also I haven’t attempted to change my halogens to LED’s yet, but does someone have a step by step tutorial on how to code out the errors that may come using Bimmercode? Thanks!

I had every intention to use BimmerCode in my M2, but after I got it last week I saw reports here about errors with LCI M2's. If it throws errors a few times, is this something that will show up in the logs that BMW reads?

Uhh BMW can't void your warranty for making coding changes, first they have to provide proof that the coding that you did damaged the car. And if they provide proof of how their own coding system damaged a car I would be very surprised.

Besides that these cars are dead reliable, so saving your warranty is worthless after 10k or so.

Uhm, what are you going to do.. .take BMW to court? Id rather spend my time in more productive endeavors. Fact is, if you have a dealer who is not mod friendly, they can make your life miserable, while you try and demonstrate that the coding you did had nothing to do with the 'glitch' in the proprietary software you hacked into.

Yes I would if their was serious damage to my car and they were refusing to repair something because I coded off ASD.

My point is your car should probably only go to the dealer for oil changes, these aren’t Fords where headgasket and turbo chargers are regular replacement.

That's all Ive ever brought my bmws to the dealer for, and only when eligible for the free changes.. However, often times, during these visits while still under warranty, Ill be told by SA that there is a software 'update' that needs to be performed. Ive tried to opt out in the past only to be told that doing so would void the rest of my warranty, as these updates are not optional.

Swap around the can lines and Ethernet lines on your obd2 connector, updates will now because more of a hassle then what they want to deal with.
