LOL, that would require logic, which has long abandoned the M2 forums.

Shelby GT350 Price Outrage

Here in San Antonio, a Ford dealer is selling a brand new GT350 for ONLY $5K over MSRP because it has hail damage!

Exactly! I'm guessing BMW underestimated demand for the M2 and as such will charge more to lease the limited supply that will be available for the next year or so. The initial M2 buzz post-introduction/pre-magazine tests, was decidely negative by M3/M4 owners who were bitching about retaining the N55 engine, no M seats and mirrors. It was utterly stupid speculation, but would not be surprised if it made BMW NA a little nervous about potential receptivity. Since then, people have learned what an amazing little car it is, and dealer waiting lists have grown substantially long, hence reducing the residual, raising MF, and essentially charging more for the vehicle on lease. Right now, a purchase is a much better deal...if you can get one. Good luck on that!

My $67k MSRP M3 is $650 per month. ED, max MSD's, 64 or 65% residual, 0 down, and some type of loyalty $1k discount.

I'm glad I didn't wait for the M2. But 2 years from now when my lease ends, I'll look at it again - who knows it might be worth it.

Metallic paint, leather, EDC and 19" wheels. Whatever that comes out to...

Really don't need anything else, base spec is generous. (Well maybe a backup camera but oh well).

whats ED? European delivery? A stripper and a ED would make sense thats a good residual also.

I'm inclined to agree with the first part of your sentence.

My sales price was $61k - because of ED, discount etc. What exactly doesn't work?

Ahh ok that makes your OP mentioned 67K(That math doesn't work). Great deal looks like you got a great price and good interest rate and a great residual. I wanna say the residuals are worse now by quite a bit.

Yes granted, I'm dropping in to read the info every now and then. Come replacement time in 2018, I'd be just as happy with another M3, an M2, or a used 991. Not bad choices, any one of them.

$5000 deposit?

I am working with a dealer who said they can change the build they have on order for my build. In order to make this happen I need to drop a $5k deposit on them before the end of the month.

Wanted to see what others have had to put down.

Horrible lease rates. You could lease an m4 with a MSRP in the high 70k for $900 a month Will have to see if BMW drops the lease rates on the 2017 M4.

Your greatest leverage with the dealer is being willing to walk away (either to not purchase, or to buy from another dealer). M2 supply is going to be very tight for the first few months. If you're interested in a deal, your choices are to wait, or to shop very, very hard and be willing to travel to pick up the car.
There is no leverage on this car now.
