Will 205/50 R17 winter tires fit?

Looking around for a set of winter tires for my M2. A friend of mine has a set of xice tires and wheels off his e46 330ci.

Will they fit the m2?

Assuming 17's clear the brakes then they should fit just fine. The E46 shares the same 72.5mm centre bore and 5X120 bolt pattern as the M2/2 series.

I don't think the 17 inch wheels will clear the front calipers though.

17" wheels will not clear the brakes. You even need to be careful with some 18" wheels.

205/50/17 go on my Mazda 3.

205 square Michelin Xi3 would be horrific on an M2 unless you drive on unplowed roads all the time. The rear is 5% too small in diameter. Combined with the lack of grip it would light up the traction control at the lightest touch of the throttle. It'll just drive poorly most of the time, I wouldn't do it.
