Tracking it is easy, all you need is the train car number your car is in.

Getting that number on the other hand, is nigh impossible and I don't think many people had any luck lately.

My SA gave me (after I asked him of course) my car's VIN, which become available when the car production is schedule to start soon.

This VIN is mandatory for any future search.

First, to track the production I've used site http://www.bmwdecoder.com/ with my car's VIN 7 last digits. That gives details about the car and the production date will appear at the production last step.

Second, to track the transport from Germany to to Halifax port I've used site https://www.2wglobal.com/webapps?fra...uickSearchPage with my car's VIN 7 last digits in field "Cargo ID". It is also possible to use the complete VIN. That gives the Vessel name, status and some important dates.

And last, to track from Halifax port to the dealer I've used site https://www.lhf.com/ with my car's complete VIN and by selecting the VIN radio button. That gives delivery status and some important dates.

That is my personnal experience, I cannot garanty it will work for you but I guess it might.

I tried http://www.bmwdecoder.com and the website doesn't seem to work. Also is it possible to track your vehicle if given a vehicle production number? Thanks

Hey guys, any update on how to track your car when it's on the train/ truck from Halifax? On the WWL website, it says it has been delivered from Halifax so not sure where it is right now. Would appreciate if someone would be able to help out. Thankyou.

Yeah I'd like an update too. My car arrived as of this morning in halifax and I'd like to track it coming over. Also would appreciate any time frames that people saw for cars making their way from Halifax to Vancouver.

After the ED teaser, driving my 335is is not fulfilling me anymore.

My car arrived in Halifax on July 12th, was discharged and liner released, then no further updates until today when my SA asks if I want to pick up on Thursday. I'm obviously very excited but was wondering what happened to the customs release and delivered from statuses that I had been expecting.

I am also suffering the ED withdrawal, after enjoying the autobahns and Nurburgring it's been a long wait.

If you don't mind me asking where did you get it delivered to? Two weeks seems pretty fast, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much haha.

I'm in Toronto, it will have been just under 6 weeks from drop off in Hamburg with ED to pick up. I was always given 6-8 weeks as the time frame for redelivery, I think they said 8-10 weeks for west coast and dropping off outside Germany would add a week or two.

My previous car, from the same dealership was also just under the 6 week mark for finishing production and delivery (no ED on that one).

For those doing ED, I suspect dropping off in Bremerhaven is probably quickest, it can be scheduled and loaded right away. I dropped off on a Friday in Hamburg, it arrived in Bremerhaven on Monday, then loaded the ship on Wednesday. Frankfurt and Munich will have longer travel times from drop-off to Bremerhaven. I don't know how the drop offs outside Germany would work, I don't know if they are generally shipped from more local ports or if they also get sent to Bremerhaven before departing for Halifax.

I've found that it usually takes about 2 weeks to get cars from Halifax to Toronto. About 3 weeks to get it from Halifax to Alberta. Probably a few extra days to get to Vancouver.

I believe Edmonton is the last stop before finishing in Vancouver.

Your best bet is to just keep searching the hansen site daily and see if they have assigned your car to the truck. I was in the dark the last couple of weeks but eventually my car showed up on the Hansen site. I knew when my car was going to be delivered before my sales rep!

Thanks guys. I guess I have about 3 or so weeks to wait. That'd put me right at the BMW estimate of 8-10 weeks as well. I guess I have already waited 6months from ordering to ED, so 3 more weeks should be possible... should.. be.

What happens when you enter the VIN number and it indicates a production date? Does that mean your vehicle is assembled and ready for shipping?

If ready, how long does it take to ship from the factory to the West Coast say Vancouver, BC.?

When it arrives in Halifax, does the car get transported by train? I'm in Vancouver and not sure how long it would take to get here once in Halifax?

Yes it will go on the train. Only cars in the Maritimes and certain QC locations get moved by truck.

Assuming all is well and no delays in Halifax (haha if only), add two weeks from the point the car is released to CP Rail.

Thanks. Guessing there's no way to track the car once it's on the train?

If by some miracle you can find out which train car it is and get the identifier, then you in theory can track it via CP Rail (see all the qualifiers there? haha)

No luck on that one. The wait is killing me.

Do you know if it's been released from the VPC?

If yes, and before the holiday, you should have it by end of next week.

If yes, and after the holiday, probably by early week of the 18th.

If not, hard to say, but at least 3 weeks.

PS: your dealer has access to more detailed info including a scheduled delivery date, so pay them a visit in person to chat and get an update. Always better than an email.
