I mean that's generally the case with modernization and model bloat anyway so it's nothing new. I'm just yelling at clouds really. |

Agreed, "raw" is a Lotus Elise...the Evora is actually a nice compromise between the F87 and the go kart feeling of an Elise. I've owned all three, but still have the M2.

In other words, I don't see the same type of argument happening here, that "the old gen is better than the new gen" with the GT4. I'd say most 981 GT4 owners probably wish they had a 718, and would be lying if they said they didn't. Quote:
That said, as someone else said somewhere, I could care less about what reviewers think of styling- ESPECIALLY someone who has clearly gone against the grain with his choice of a Frozen Berry Spyder with red interior. That's like asking a gossip columnist if he thinks my wife is hot. I heard he doesn't like the rear bumper of the G87- I took another look and yep, I like it more now. I am weirdly very invested in seeing reviews for this car. I can't recall actively waiting for review embargoes to lift for any other vehicle, ever. |

F87 looks better than the G87.
The S58 is just such a good engine. The G80 isn't my favorite looking car, but after driving it, knew I wanted it over my F87.

See I had the opposite experience, I really liked the way the g80 drove, its fantastic but apart from seating position I like how the f87 drives much better

I was in the same boat and agree with everything you said except the G80 was simply too big for me dimension wise...

Indeed, I've watched most the videos and read most of the thread: https://g42.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2006022
What I learned at the thread above: F87 owners are butt hurt if they don't love the G87. And a few people who prefer the G87 looks over the F87 ("F87 is soft and frumpy", "hilarious if you prefer F87 because G87 looks more muscular", etc.) |

I say buy it. At $1000 under MSRP and the fact that they are pretty rare at the moment, I would jump all over it. You will still be able to sell it in the short term if you want to. Just don’t buy extended warranty or any extra’s that will keep you hostage to your car by inflating the amount you owe vs. how much it is worth.
The only drawback is the wheelbase is longer and the length of the car is longer. Looks are subjective, but I think I would be happy with it. Disclaimer, I have a 2019 M2C that I love. I just paid a lot for it based on what the marked demanded. BUT its fun, tossable and just sheer pleasure to drive. Plus its the most badass looking car I have ever driven. And I have owned at least 10 cars over the past 15 years. just get it, you will have a blast. I |

Selling the allocation for $2500.
This will put you $500 over MSRP all said and done because it’s a $2k under MSRP deal. The car is on its way to port now. https://g42.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...2#post30000832 |

Long story short, they said my VIN did not exist... which I have no clue how that was even possible. I could have probably resolved the issue, but did not want the headache as I felt like I was running around. I got it at MSRP and the dealership paid me 4k over MSRP and sold me a G80 for MSRP, so I traded it in and I will admit, I miss it. I'll be buying an M2 probably in 3-4 years. I'm waiting to see what they do with a G87 M2CS, otherwise, I'll probably pull the trigger on a F87 M2CS, but god knows what prices will be like on that car in a few years, lol.
