V8 envy. Pure and simple.
Even BMW succumbed to it with the E9x M3.

And I agree with Franzino the Mustang, Camaro, M3 and M4 are all big cars
My salesman said it is mine for $65k plus taxes and destination.

Not in Detroit. At shows I have seen window stickers that total $70k and people have paid that much. If you could get a GT350 at MSRP there would be far less people in this M2 forum.

I don't find it all that strange, to be honest. People buy BMWs for a lot of reasons. One of those reasons is that BMW builds "driver's cars". Where else can you get a RWD, manual transmission sports sedan/coupe? Your options are basically BMW and muscle cars. Unless, of course, you have unlimited money to spend. Then you have options from Jaguar, Aston Martin, etc.

The Voodoo V8 in the GT350 has me really interested. The S55 is a wonderful motor, but it didn't stir me like the S65. I haven't driven one, but the GT350 has the right elements, so I wouldn't hesitate to check one out.

My next car purchase is shaping up to be one of these three:

BMW M2 CS
Ford Mustang GT350
Chevy Camaro SS 1LE

Makes sense I was interested in the M2 but the dealer played games with allocations. Then I got a gt350 and had to call like 100 dealers to get one a MSRP.

What did your dealer do to play games exactly with the allocations? Was he holding off info and giving them out to VIP customers?

Basically I went from 12 to 9 and then back to 12. Dealer said they were managing the demand. I had a deposit at a second bmw dealer but by then I was looking for 350s

But there isn't even a bmw m2 CS in existence or officially on the horizon. What if all this testing is just for the differentials issue? What if that car on track is for something like an M performance package they may offer? I'd live to see an M2 CS, but why, when the m2 is do great do you need one? And, would you pay 20k more for less stuff? Probably

MSRP for a GT350 over MSRP for a M2. Sold! $65k for either car? Not so much.

I'm not really sure what you're asking?

I don't "need" any of them I was a little disappointed in the details of the M2. That's just my perspective. For me, it's worth it to wait and see what plays out with the M2 CS/GTS/whatev. We've got pretty strong confirmation from SCOTT26 that something new is coming. The current M2 just wasn't enough for me to push the button.

Budget wise, we don't know what the price of the new M2 variant will be yet. If it's priced ridiculously, I wouldn't be unhappy in a GT350, or even a Camaro SS 1LE.

Hmm. I only heard about deletions, but perhaps there will be some decent additions.

Tells you that the m2 cs will have the hot seats, but will not have a standard roll cage
So much for the excitement, just track kit in a standard car.
