Pretty sure that you aren't gonna dicate colors to BMW AG. A whole lot of people got their noses snubbed on the 1M looking for blue .... And of course fans of red got ORANGE instead and are still waiting.

Perhaps an M4 is in your future?!

Of course they don't even fucking make that in red either .... So I definitely understand the frustration.

Take heart in these letters... ?? CSL. ?

There's always the chance of a red in individual... Bring $$$$!
No there isn't... No individual orders for the M2 at Leipzig just like the 1m.

Even though there were a few custom 1ms that made it out of the factory In colors like Java Green and Sepang Bronze, I don't recall any of them actually being red.

Not hating here. Because I think BMW SHOULD make sports cars in red... Just don't think it's a good idea to get ones hopes up. And certainly making declarative statements like " I won't buy it unless " simply makes the chance of " egg on face" more likely later on

Shame that almost every other panel on the 1 series coupe was stamped with the ugly press in the factory.

The front lights on the 1 series are far, far, far worse than the rear lights on the 2 series. Addressed slightly with the facelift admittedly. The lit up LED pattern on the 2 series rear lights is actually very nice and probably my favourite of any BM, bar concept lights. But they could do with being thinned and made a bit sleeker.

Scott had said imagine that space except it's not a intake (pushed in, or filled in). I questioned whether it is an intake. The clue is, if it is an intake, then it would not be covered up, as a functional air intake for brakes would be left open.
This has nothing really to do with a "CSL" version, unless that version does get a functional brake air intake

In the video link below , the car you are referring to in the photo has license plate # MKJ 5137. You can have a closer look to, maybe, support your thought.

Thanks for the photos, BTW.
I'm not really liking the look here next to the M4. The M4 looks more exotic/sporty with its shorter height overall especially the front and the M2 looks quite bulldogish like the 1M especially on that front view shot. Also the white is horrible next to the bright M4.

Well the M4 is on a higher echelon...

The M2 follows a different design path to the M4 which BMW already stated previously at the time of releasing the M235i racing.

Look at the white mule...then the black mule...now the white one. You're on the moon, now Tahiti, now the moon.

What I'm getting at? You're imagining it. The camoflauge is doing its job on the black mule and messing with your eyes. There's no fender cutout. Why would there be on a street car that doesn't have a rear mounted engine. Think about it. Look at the white test mule and compare. Several people have already discounted the rear vent. The biggest question to ask is - why would the car warrant one?

It's the air curtain thing right? Isn't that one of the new BMW features trickling through all their models?

Why would a front engine car have a rear vent? BMW should answer that one.

Also, it seems that this shading was generated from a very specific lighting angle. Just being skeptical here.

I think BMW is ready to get bold with a functional wider scoop on the M2 and then crazy wide functional intake or just wilder aero on an M2 CSL.

The fender gills that started on the E46 became scoops on the E90, dents in the 1M, and have gotten wider and larger on the F80 and now it's only a matter of creating a sweeping character line in the shape of a swoosh to the rear ... Making a similar fender opening on the quarter panel as it incorporates into a beefy rear haunch at the rear.

The M2 looks like it will have more room for tires at the rear than the M4/M3 ... Just like the 1M does over the E9x ... They wear the same original shoes... But not at the track...

Sorry if this sounds stupid but, to me, this looks more or less exactly like an M235i. It desperately needs a power bulge on the bonnet (hood ?)

Yeah, true. I lived out in Indiana for 3 years and loved it, but ultimately I missed NY/LI and came back. But I am ready to get the hell out of here now, but that is just not gonna happen any time soon.

I've actually had a chance to look at a Batmobile up close and personal, and if I remember correctly, there are coolers back there. So that is absolutely functional, but it's also on a race car (the street 3.0CSL did not have rear flares like that).

Let's just assume that they did have an air vent back there (let's say for cooling), the would not be testing it with camo on it. Completely defeats the purpose.

For all we know, that could be a bolt on panel under the camo. But I give it almost 0 chance that the car will have rear vents like the GT6 concept. Makes no sense.

Just for looks? What's the point? It's not like the car physically needs it. There are already comparison pics showing the back view of an M2 mule vs the M235i. The proportions are completely different in my opinion

Personally, I can hardly see the power dome on the M3/4.
