I never thought to ask that; I like the stripe. I can tell you they're not a sticker; I feel zero edge to the area where the stripes start & end. The fob is really nicely made. Spare key works perfectly too.

Thanks, couldn't resist when I randomly came across it in the Bilstein online shop.

Quality is better than expected, my guess is all the vendors are using the same housing. I didn't like the size of the old fob as it sat awkwardly in my pocket and having the X3 also that key was a little bit sleeker and surprised how much of a difference it made, so wasn't just the look for me. Definitely feels more substantial too, which is nice.

To anyone considering I definitely recommend Nate (https://www.natesbmwecurepair.com/); also worth noting he turns them around same day compared to Gates which charges $100 extra for that.

I went with Gates and should have my key waiting on me at the house when I get back later tonight.

Stoked for the upgrade. It was frustrating seeing the G series loaner I had came with a nice M striped key but my M2 didn’t.
