Double sided vs single sided carbon fiber trunk

Hey all, what's the difference between a double sided and single sided carbon fiber trunk?

What's the difference between the two?

Was looking to get a CSL style trunk and noticed the double sided was about 2-2.5k depending on if I wanted it painted vs the single sided being about 500-1k.

Sounds like "double sided" is full CF, and "single sided" is CF top layer on FRP.

Which trunk were you looking at? I believe there were one or two options but I can't remember

Honestly the only one I find visually appealing is the one offered on AUTOID seems to be double sided and made by TRE.

There's others where the duckbill portion is more horizontal instead of curved up.

I believe vividracing has one similar as well.

Vicrez has one for sale as well. I'm not really sure which is best. It doesn't seem like a lot of people on here use the CSL trunk oddly enough. I'd love to get one when I have the funds for it.

Thanks for letting me know. Theirs is real nice too… Decisions decisions ….

But yea would love to see more builds with the CSL trunk. I've seen two builds with them and they're the two nicest m2 builds in my opinion.

I just remembered, Agency Power also had one for sale! They went out of stock awhile ago & I spoke to them on the phone once. They said a new batch was coming out about a year ago but I have no idea if it actually did.

It's tough to know which will have the best fitment with such limited knowledge about them all

M2_ghost on Instagram has one! I believe his was from Agency Power but I'm not completely sure. From my knowledge he's had that trunk for awhile now.

On a side note, most people tend to leave a tiny lip on the top of the trunk unpainted and the center part of it near the license plate (like m2_ghost) but the more I look at it the more I get the urge to paint the whole thing the car color and call it a day.
