CF parts or no?

I need some swaying to get some CF parts or not.

Thinking if I should get front lip, mirror caps, rear spoiler, rear diffuser etc.

Why did you or not get these parts?

No, CF is bad.

The stealth look is better for the F87 platform, imho- which is why I've purposely stayed far away from those terribly expensive CF bits.

But, it ultimately comes down to what *you* like.

The mirror caps 'might' get wiped by oncoming traffic, but with the exception of the rear spoiler, everything will get kerb/stone-rashed to oblivion if you actually drive it.

Maybe not helpful...

Front lip in carbon is a problem. They seem to scrape on speed bumps and steep driveways. Other than that I have most of the carbon bits on my car. Four years in and they still look great.

I even have the carbon exhaust tips on my M Performance exhaust.

Thanks for all the replies. Did not think about the front lip scraping…

I think I might hold off CF stuff for now and enjoy the car as it is given I haven't owned it for a year yet.

Mirrors and spoiler are pretty minimal but does transform the look. I think it gives the car a more "tuner" look if we can call it that. I'm not quite sure how to describe it. Painted looks cleaner for sure but carbon isn't a terrible look either. I'm a little torn on the mirrors myself even though I have them. As mentioned, it will come down to your preference and budget.

When I ordered my M2c last February, I wanted a bit of CF to spice it up without going overboard. Originally I was gonna get the mirror caps & rear spoiler. But the mirror cap price made me gag (over $1k), so I just went with the spoiler. A day or two later I decided that the rear diffuser, though expen$ive, was a proper supplement to the spoiler, so I added it to the order. Very happy with the results. The BMW OE stuff is expensive, but the quality is second to none. And ordering it that way means it's port-installed, on the Monroney, and covered under warranty.

I agree with the comment above about a front lip. Far to easy to knock it off sooner than later. I'd rather have the extra ground clearance myself.

If you do buy carbon pieces, please buy the genuine oem. I've cheaped out as few times and have regretted it. I really believe the saying now "buy nice or buy twice"!

Maybe the only exception to buying non genuine would be a front lip as that's going to get beaten up eventually.

The rear looks nice! Maybe im overthinking it but I keep thinking if you get CF in the back might as well balance it with the front but maybe not.

Yeah definitely. If I go the CF route it will be oem but man the M tax is real!

I am not super into CF myself but most quality parts for this car are CF and luckily I have a black car so the CF blends in nicely.

I think the Mperformance rear diffuser is a must, the stuck diffuser is not aggressive enough and is plastic so I got that.

I went with a turner high kick spoiler because I thought the mperfomance was too minimal and the back of the car is quite boring.

I did not want to do carbon up front because I just know is not going to last around here, I also don't like the look of the winglets so I went with a simple flat flat front splitter and I think it looks nice. And that is it for me, no more cf on the outside. I considered mirrors but I think if I think it would be too much, I think once you start going with too much carbon you have to commit and get the grill and the side gills, ect

I’ve had quite a few CF parts, rear trunk lip spoiler MP style, rear diffuser, front bumper vent covers, rear mirror caps, rear wing spoiler, and side skirts. But now I’ve parted out most of them. I prefer less CF is more.

Not all CF are "worth" in my opinion..these are the parts which I consider worth on an M2:
front and side wings, rear diffuser and deck lid spoiler. If you want more, then go for the rear mirrors. Side vents in carbon are cool as well (if your car is not black or grey, then they are more worthy as the originals in plastic look pretty cheap). You can find many aftermarket CF parts just be careful when washing the car: when they are not the best quality, the clear coat tend to vanish and they will start to look crap (so don't clean them too much or leave any cleaning product on them for too long). For the cabin I would suggest the Mperformance alcantara trim around the gear knob and the dry CF gear knob: they improve the cabin A LOT (the stock ones looks pretty cheap compared to the rest of the cabin and it's something you notice a lot being at the center of the cabin).
