"Ok, what if you accidentally also left the key in the trunk while the battery is dead or disconnected?" was the original question. We're on the topic of a disconnected battery buddy, did you miss that?

My apologies for being thorough. It's in my nature and totally my fault. You are absolutely right, I'm a terrible person for laying that all out.

If you have a 40/20/40 split rear seat on your M2C. You can still gain access to the boot by opening the center rear seat. (sometimes known as ski access). However, I haven't found how you can open the boot from inside the boot because it doesn't have the yellow triangle pull string for manual release.
Random tip. If you forget and turns off your car in neutral, the car will whine about it. You can put it into park by press the start button again to turn off the car fully which will then engage Park. |

I posted a while back about using the hand brake while coasting. It’s in the manual. It tells us to occasionally LIGHTLY engage the hand brake while coasting to prevent one sided brake action and corrosion build up. Just keep your thumb on the button and briefly engage then reseat the hand brake a few times while car is moving.

This is not a tip, but for you guys that are new to the BMW family the Owner's Manual is something you should check out before you get your cars. If anything the tips here can be looked up in the OM for further details.

I had to cripple the one socket, next to the cup holder for my radar detector. Maybe they changed it since than in US spec vehicles for 2020, BMW is like that but I can confirm in some models, it's is in fact missing, so it's a roll of the dice. https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1295906 https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=971445 |

You can request a service callback inside your vehicle without contacting the dealer directly, from the iDrive menu.
Recently, my dealer has gotten really stingy with giving out loaner cars and tried to get me to wait there for hours but I learned that the appointment receptionist is much more lenient with assigning them. So what I do is request service from the iDrive, wait for a callback and then sweet-talk receptionist into booking me for a service loaner, even for a simple oil change or check-ups. They usually callback the same day, after the iDrive's Bat Signal has been sent. Hasn't fail yet.. You welcome. |

I coded the rear view camera to allow it to activate at any speed or distance, so when I'm driving and some mouth-breather starts dangerously tailgating me; I switch the camera on..
I have a keen understanding on how the mind of a moron works, sort of like a feral animal; obvious self-preservation kicks in much quicker than logical reasoning, so the second they see the image of their vehicle on the iDrive screen, they assume they're being "recorded," and consequently fall back and stop tailgating. |
