I am now eagerly anticipating a post that will make us all eat crow. We're going to get a photo showing a forum member:

1. Holding his invoice at $3,500 under MSRP, dated September 1, 2018
2. With 2 buxom working girls hanging off his arms, each one scantily clad in only bumper stickers saying, "Provided by Stevens Creek BMW to our valued customer"
3. Sitting on 10 giant Costco boxes of Cheetos

That'll show us self-righteous prigs!

I forget how outrageous some of the dealer fees are. I'm paying $150 a title and registration fee but IIRC that's about what most new car fees are in Oregon (maybe state law?). And then there's the 0.5% sales tax for cars in a state that doesn't have a sales tax!
Which dealer did you go to? I tried staying w/ local dealer, but they just cant/wont deal like an out of state dealer.

Looks like there will be 2 M2C's rolling around here!

Msrp in Peabody MA, for July 2018 order. Gave me winter floor maps with purchase. $100 credit. for swag bought at dealer. previous dealer I went to wouldn't budge from 5 k premium.

Are these recent orders? I had to wait for an allocation. Guess I overpaid according to these great discounts

Yes this is for a 2020. That's why I believe I got the discount. I'm east coast but way South of you. NE is always more expensive from my experience. I'm still dealing with this 1.5k car care thing they would like to do. I refuse to pay it and if they don't wanna budge I'm not gonna buy the car.

Hey...another Bendite.

I contacted every dealer in Oregon multiple times and went with BMW of Medford, mainly because they were the only one that actually wanted to sell me a car and were willing to put me on an allocation list. I don't know what dealers you've contacted but I can probably steer you towards the ones that were open to working with a new customer. PM me if you want details.

I also wanted to do the purchase at the local dealer but it wasn't looking promising. I initially inquired with them about ordering one last summer and the SA was great and continued to follow-up with me every couple weeks since. But after meeting with the sales manager in October I got the feeling they had allocations but were giving them to repeat customers.

Curious about others who might have traded or be trading in a used M2.
How many miles? I got 47K trade on my 2017 M2 when I traded it last October when I ordered my 19 M2C. It was a 6MT, Exec, LBB with 8.5K miles on it.

I got 5% off MSRP on my M2C (ED) minus $500 from BMWCCA. Net difference was right around 10k.

Pics or it didn't happen. My diff on my 2017 was closer to 20k. And still worth it. My car was close to 65k and the trade was 45k. 5% on 60k is only 3k.

This thread is full of trolls. Not this poster because I understand the ED discount. If you get the car close to MSRP, it isn't a tragedy. The case is still good value.

I think this is a market dependant thing .

I got 6% (or thereabouts) off MSRP. And that was special ordering some option changes away from my country's standard / default config.

If I was happy with one of their stocked cars, I could've got 10 or possibly 12%. These sorts of cars here are very low volume, so they have a lot of (loaded) gross margin. Once you make them aware that you're aware of this, they'll take a chunk off. Better to get half the gross margin than none at all.
I start the negotiation off with "I'm going to buy this car, I'm talking to you and one other dealer, I'm looking for x off MSRP but with that said a relationship is more valuable than a short term gain, so let me know what you can do for me."
Makes them realise it's not my first rodeo and I expect a discount that I've probably received before, but that I'm not going to choose someone over $500.

I'm not a VIP at all. But over the last 5 years I've bought 8 new cars, for myself, wife, staff. Not all from one dealer / brand.

But it's a military discount; that's almost an agreed upon amount between the military and BMW.

When I worked for At&t wireless, once the person had ID, they got coded for a flat corporate rate on their plan based on their affiliation that At&t agreed upon. All companies have some sort of reciprocation between each other.

I'm not knocking your discount just pointing out the difference for civilians.

My dealer gave me the EUD price and $500 off. + $500 through CCA rebate. I also got the M performance mats and standard trunk liner thrown in and wheel/tire warranty at cost.

Probably the "worst" deal I've ever negotiated, but seems to be "fair" based on market.

One thing worth arguing is the dealer added fees (documentation for example). Bunch of BS.

I know there is deals to be had, you just have to be in the right position. I've gotten a dealer to eat a $3,000 lease return fee and $2,000 off the car. I've learn the trick is not to get too euphoric about the purchase and be prepared to walk on the car.

When they think they have you by the balls, that's when they're less likely to bargain. So It's in your best interest to play hard-to-get, even if you know you want that car today!

It's sad in a Free Market where you can but purchase everything else at a discounted price online but when it comes to a cars, you have to utilized a franchise dealership and play games to get a fair deal on a vehicle.

Not to mention if you getting a loan, you also get bent over by the finance manager with inflated interest rates and add ons.

I get that everyone has to eat but I hope one day we're given the option to purchase an automobile directly for the manufacturer and eliminate the shady middle men.

2019 or 2020

Do I pickup a 2019 at my local dealer tomorrow for MSRP or order a 2020 at the same price and wait 8-12 weeks.

Torn between jumping in my new ride now or potential better resale down the road.

I understand the only difference for the 2020 is the darkened taillights, which really isn't a big deal for me.

Thoughts?

I don't know where you live, but if you're in New England, I'd take the 2019 and enjoy it for the season.

The resale of the 19 and 20 should be a wash.

Today I put a deposit on a 2020 M2C manual HS getting about $2,800 off MSRP. I was told the car just arrived at port in New Jersey and could be at the dealership here in NY by this Friday

Yah that's what I'm asking about. I had no idea this was a thing sadly. I sent out various emails in the last hour asking if I can get the discount applied or not.

Problem is I ordered through a US dealer so I doubt they will be able to do the discount. But I am eligible for it.

Seems he is getting his delivered to the US.
