Wow, so the high performance variant of a regular series passenger car isnt as good as a bunch of mid and rear engined supercars? I cant believe it. Its heavier and is not as fast or nimble as supercars? Thanks for the groundbreaking info Matt! You just said yourself that you were driving Porsche, Lotus, and the new mid-engine Corvette immediately before. Try some context bud!
(end butt-hurt fanboy rant...)

I think Farah may be a decent driver no doubt, but I can't agree with this review. I wonder if he got the same press car with questionable/worn brakes as the car magazine (Car and Driver I think) that lambasted the car for poor braking. I came from a Cayman GTS and have driven both cars many times on track, and the M2C has far superior braking... Also, the on-throttle oversteer with 405hp and 265 section PSS rear tires is a "no shit" issue, but I still don't have a significant problem with it with good throttle modulation! I trust Chris Harris' opinion over Farah's if I'm honest. I still love the car so much, and way more than my previous Porsche, but don't want people to not get the car bc they take these journalist's opinions to heart. Or, maybe I do so BMW will sell less cars and mine will be more valuable in the future...

Farrah. Nice enthusiastic guy, loves high end watches, but he can't drive, doesn't have car control. At all...
In MDM mode fgs. All nannies off next time? His own shortcomings he projects on the M2C.... And no it's not a fact the M2C needs the 15 inch brakes. They're way too heavy(unsprung weight) vs the Blue brakes. But he sure knows how to talk a YouTube video together. Cheers Robin Last edited by Robin_NL; 12-18-2019 at 08:32 AM.. |

I hear you. Honestly, not sure if it is a power issue for you? Initially I was really impressed with the power and speed, but then wanted more relatively shortly after getting the car. Then, I got the Carbahn stage 1 tune and now the car is a total rocket ship! Honestly feels like I'm faster than everyone (obviously not true)! It has transformed the car and it's so much fun! Highly recommend. I've timed my 40mph-100mph time at 5 seconds (regular stop watch, so not that accurate but I don't care), which is a real riot!

You have a 2019, your DME should be unlocked. You can check your iStep version to verify this. When the 2020 DME is unlocked, I will be going with the BM3 tune. Someone on here has a 2019 M2C with an exhuast and e85 pushing 570 to the tire. I'm sure that would change your mind lol.

Ah, so they backdated it. Makes sense. I do not want to run a piggyback. Was unsure how Carbahn was getting around the locked DME. Good to know! |

I'm in Charlotte. Local Carbahn dealer is EuroMpire. They are awesome! Highly recommend! If you believe the BMW published numbers for horsepower (405 flywheel, but most likely underrated) and the Carbahn published stage 1 estimated HP (549 FWHP based on wheel measurement with estimated drivetrain loss) it's close to 150hp gain and >150 PF torque gain! I bought mine with the warranty for peace of mind. Carbahn seems legit with the warranty. Did have the DME removed and sent to California Overnight. Whole process was really quick though, less than 3 days. Did not have to pay shipping.

Problem with Noelle from reading the warranty is that you have to go to a Noelle dealer for warranty repair, which would be really tough bc there are so few. The closest one to me is 200 miles away and I'm in what would technically qualify as a major city. I see you are in Atlanta, where they obviously have a dealer, but what if you breakdown away from home? The warranty from Carbahn does not specify this is necessary, and when speaking with them over the phone, the allow at least an initial evaluation of breakdown at any shop, even the dealership.

Close to 500 whp with matching BMW warranty. I would much rather leave some hp and tq at the door for the warranty, like you, hands down. |

I believe he had mentally placed this car on high a pedestal, due to his recent experience with high-performance, mid-engine vehicles and when it couldn't reach such lofty goals, he crap all over it's comparable performance.
It's not fair and any enthusiast worth his salt would take that into account before they start deducting points for a vehicle with a different platform. There's level to this.. |

I like Farrah, but he has a definite bias towards Porsche. Everything else is always just Ok.
Sometimes I watch his videos and shout "not everyone can afford a GT3 or GT2rs" **And I definitely think some of these press cars have been beaten to crap. BMW should do a better job of prepping them for the next guy. **Hey Matt, find me a better car at $58,900??

I think the car is trash on the track in stock form. Its a great daily driver but thats where it ends, compared to sports cars in similar price range I am going to take them over the M2 to play on the track. However, i chose the M2 to daily drive and it fills that need perfectly.
People need to get to grips that the M2 isnt a great track car, honestly it drives like trash on track. Yes, it can turn a good time doesnt mean its a good track car that gives good driver feedback and a good level of enjoyment. |
