Where to learn

Purchased an m2c 6 months ago and have yet to take it out on places like Alice's or any twisty roads due to never having driven them before. I don't want to be that guy that's going slow and causing traffic and having to pull out at every stop. Are there roads/suggestions you guys would recommend to get more acquainted and accustomed to what the car can do?

By virtue of having 400+ hp car, you will already be faster than 90% of normies out there. Just take it easy, don’t go faster than you’re comfortable with, and build up your confidence from there. Even if there are other sports car drivers faster than you, no one is judging each other based on how fast they go - these are public roads after all. Just pull out at the earliest available spot and everybody will have a great time.

Don’t know what car you’re coming out of or you car lineage, but just respect the car and the roads. Take your time to get comfortable and more confident. Just drive and enjoy the pleasure your machine affords you. I’m a BMW only driver since 2001 and my M2 is truly the best of everything I’ve owned all wrapped into one near perfect drivers car. Relax and enjoy and don’t get egged on to do less than smart things.

Do the drive over California 84 from San Gregorio to Woodside. Either direction. Spectacular road, spectacular views. Lots of areas with good visibility ahead, allowing you to step up the pace without worrying about something you can't see coming at you. Of course there are those areas too - just take it easy there. Great road for getting the feel of your car and its capabilities. You don't have to be doing 10/10ths to really enjoy that road. Also other great roads in the Santa Cruz mountains - Skyline Blvd, 92 from San Mateo to the coast, Hwy 9 to the south.

highly recommend doing a track day at Streets of Willow. It's a great track to learn what your car can do.
