The M2 needs a competition package, it doesn't sound hard core enough.

Fan Boi much? Ford has surpassed BMW from an enthusiast perspective imo. The Focus RS and GT 350 offer incredible performance for your money.
lol true that. Even long time M car lover Chris Harris thinks the new mustang GT is "loosely" on par with the m4. I think it's safe to say the GT350 or the new Stingray crushes anything out of Germany, performance wise. I wonder if my little 235i will keep pace with next gen base focus looool

You mean how it is "analog" with "perfect balance and poise"?

Blasphemy! No way a torque-less 8400RPM engine with RWD can achieve such feels!

A true enthusiast will see the value other manufacturers bring, not just the one he/she owns. Competition is always great for the consumer. Ford has come a long way from 10 years ago. While as much as I love BMW, I cant say the same for BMW.

I wish he had given it a longer and deeper review - like "in depth".

That's sad. You're missing a lot of great cars and a lot of fun because either your ego gets in the way or you're worried about other peoples perceptions of you.

I'm not sure how they are handling it across the pond where you are, but here in the US, the M2 isn't limited production run like the 1M was. The first year will be low production, but they're ramping up as we head towards the LCI.

You probably shouldn't speak until there is volume present.

If anything , you should learn from the 1M rollout that when shortages and " limited " availability happened in Europe for the 1M, that same thing later happened to the US market which got delivers after other world markets.

Lots of US enthusiasts ASSUMED the US would get more 1M than Europe because of the way that M models are most popular in the US.. And they were wrong.

So..

Now that there are shortages and limited availability in Europe for the M2 , if you want to be so bold and declare that M2 will be plentiful in the US you just go right ahead.

Just understand your comments fly in the face of precedent and you might end up with egg on your face.
they got rid of 1 because they were planning for the number swap, and the 2 series = 2 door. if not for the 2 series, the 1 would stil, be here. kind of like the 330 e9x was only made for 1 year.

LOL i'm not anti all other car companies, just Ford and a few others. And don't lie saying there isn't a brand you hate. What if KIA came out with a 500hp sports coupe, would you get it? NO!

And i'm getting an M2 so sounds like i'll be owning a great car to me and having lots of fun

Sure sure sure.

Bless their little heart.

Ford has crappy resale valve.

Which (even exotic) normal carbrand can say it has(colaborrated with) icons like:

Shelby Cobra 289/427
GT40
Escort Mk1/Mk2 Rally
RS200GrB
Sierra RS500
Escort Cosworth
Focus WRC/RS/new RS
Ford GT
New ALMS GT

I have them both on Order. Focus RS and M2. Can t make a decision

The M2 is far more luxury fun car. In every day use the m2 is far better. I drove the M2 Tuesday on Barcelona racetrack. The DCT version. But i sure buy the 6 speed manual. DCT shifts are so smooth it feels like i drive an automatic gearbox everytime i pull the shift lever.

But i also like some 4wd drifting and that s were focus RS comes in nicely but it wil be no daily car for me.

What if Nissan came up with an awesome supercar killer? Would you buys that?
Or what if Toyota/Lexus actually built a supercar? Would you buy that?

Where did BMW need to come? Ford and other American manufacturers are finally getting up to the level set by many European auto manufacturers.

umm - I think they did that back in 1966

In 1966 the Mk.II took Europe by surprise and beat Ferrari to finish 1-2-3 in the standings. Ford GT40's went on to win the race (LeMans) for four consecutive years (1966-1969).
