Have aftermarket rims 19x9.5 front and 19x10.5 rear

Hi guys,

I just tried the Toyo R888R and didn't like them at the track slippery and I killed them.

Thinking pilot cup 2. How wide can I go without rub up front on 9.5 and what side wall do you recommend.

Toyo R888 are horrible. Not sure why people like them.
MPSC2, Trofeo R, and Hoosiers are way better.

What the hell are you on about?

Are you really comparing an MPSC2 and a Trofeo R to an 888R and Hoosier?

MPSC2 = streetable track tire
Trofeo R = streetable track tire

888R = streetable comp tire
Hoosier A/R7 = pure comp tire

The 888R will eat the MPSC2 and Trofeo R alive, just the same as the R7 will eat the 888R alive.

Next time compare tires appropriately.

Lol.

I do love me the R888rs. I guess its all what you're used to. At proper temps they grip like slicks. You definitely can not over heat them though, they get greasy ... and they're only good for a dozen heat cycles.

They're an honest auto-x tire for light cars, not a real track tire for 3,500 lb pigs.

Depending on the offset of the wheels and your suspension setup you can run 265/35 on a 9.5
265/30 or 255/35 might be preferred for a little more clearance, however I ran that size in Cup2's with no rubbing on apex Ec7 setup for our cars.

Thank you. What about in the rear? Front and rear are stock suspension so only change is rim.

I ran 305/30/19 cup 2's on the rear. Worked great with the apex setup. 19x10.5 et45

Looks great! Are you lowered by chance and would you be able to provide the full specs?

Yes it's lowered on H&R sport springs. Those are Apex Ec7 wheels in their M2c fitment.
Fronts 19x9.5 et28 and rear 19x10.5 et45. I ran 265/35 and 305/30 sport cup 2's.

Wow, I’m surprised the front doesn’t look too lowered. I may go that route eventually. Thanks for the info!
