Does anyone know what the outer diameter of the tailpipes are? I am trying to figure out if the aftermarket tips I have on my stock exhaust will fit on the Dinan.

From what I read the pipe size is increased 1/4" (65mm to 70mm) and it appears the tail pipes are the same size as the rest of the exhaust. Just looking for confirmation.

What startup rattle?

I am one of the lucky ones who have never had a problem with my M Performance exhaust.

Sarg33: there is an excellent thread in the S55 section: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1720221
( I hope I linked that correctly!) in post #29 Dinan confirm a tip inlet of 70mm. In the first post Dinan state a tip outlet of 102mm.
Studying minutiae of these exhausts has been my most recent hobby.
I hope that helps!

Out of curiosity has anyone weighed the stock system for an idea if there is a decent weight loss ?

It's made out of standard stainless steel, I can't see it having any meaningfully weight savings, over the stock system; just louder and maybe a better appearance.

How to add videos. I like it. It's little louder, has a more raspy character, very loud pops and burbles for someone who likes that. I don't mind tips. They look good to me.

While 304 stainless isnt as light as Ti, I'd still wager the stock unit hit heavier than the Dinan not by a ton but I come from racing to keep weight low and power high. I plan to get the Dinan myself as well.

Maybe 10lbs here and there but I'm sure it's nothing to write home about..

And as far as weight savings goes; when you're already pushing over 3,500lbs, only unsprung weight reduction; such as lighter wheels or forged suspension and brake components would make any discernible difference.

I think I read in the Dinan release that the weight was within a few ounces of stock-- in other words, negligible.

The stock and Dinan system are essentially a wash in weight. Within a few ounces at least hence why no weight difference was advertised.

Looking to see if anyone has any experienced with DINAN exhaust. Dinan just came out on their website for the m2c for around $2200 plus 2.5 labor hours. I'm not looking for anything too loud.

Thanks in advance
Both Car Tender and BMW Seattle are Dinan dealers. If you are a BMWCCA member you will get 10% off the exhaust and labor cost.
Good to know BMW Seattle are Dinan and that discount info.

Are you guys in Avants?
