I put them on a scale because I wanted to see if I can cut off some weight with the 18' but it looks like I wont cut of a lot of weight because the tires appear to be more heavy than the 19'. Probably because the sidewall is bigger with 40 instead of 35!

The front tire is about 12kg(26,5lbs) and the rear is about 13kg(28,7lbs) when I add the factory data on the m513 rims in front 8,9kg (19,6lbs) and rear 9,4kg (20,7lbs) the weight should be close to:

F:20,9kg (46lbs)
R:22,4kg (49,4lbs)

weight of stock 19's (437m with tires) according to another forum post:

F: 20,8kg (45,9lbs)
R: 22,6kg (49,8lbs)

The weight of the stock 19' seems to be almost identical but I will put them on a scale as well, was expecting to save some weight but it seems to be almost the same!? whats your opinion on this topic? because in a lot of threads they compare the weight of 19' & 18' rims but if the tire is more heavy on the 18's at least the "weight saving" aspect of going to 18's is more or less irrelevant

(messed up with the pictures sorry, can't change it anymore)
Sorry for going off topic. Would you mind posting some photos of your setup once the tires/wheels are mounted? I was seriously considering this exact same setup.

But yeah the AD08R have a wider contact patch than most tires rated at the same width, plus their sidewalls are stiff/blocky. With a 40 series tire and a similar overall diameter as the OEM 19s, I'm not surprised about the weight difference (or lack thereof).

there you go! the car is on stock suspension with 5mm spacers all around
in my opinion the fitment with the fender is almost perfect
now it only needs some proper suspension to get a little lower
but the tires came out quite nice! I really like the higher sidewalls

maybe it is also worth to mention that the tires are the ad08rs which is the successor of the ad08r but I think there is not a big difference between them ;D

and I also got the total weight of the wheels:
F: 21,6kg (47,6lbs)
R: 23,2kg (51,1lbs)

after weighing the stocks I can compare the weigh but I guess the 18" with the yokohamas are a little bit more heavy!

I run 265/285 NS2Rs on the 513Ms, dont have and good pics on the fitment but they fill the arches perfectly without spacers and so far no rubbing.

I still need to drive them in anger on a dry track though.

I weighed a set of OEM spec 513M and 437M (19") and with OEM tires the weight was within 200 grams or so.

Looks really good! Can't wait for suspension updates from you. I think that's going to finish it off nicely . I hope you're enjoying them.

Here in Canada, apparently it's getting more and more difficult to source a set of AD08R. I feel they may getting discontinued soon due to their age, and Advan also showcases a new concept tire at Toyko Auto Salon on the Yokohama Supra. If so, I really hope they retain a lot of their current daily-able traits; it's why I feel this is such a great tire. A great one for the track, and still controllable on the street in wet conditions.

Thanks again for the photos!

Any spacers and how much camber upfront to fit 265 tyres ?

What profile are the front tyres ?

No spacers, stock alignement, M2C (should have less clearance than an M2 due to the brake ducts).

265/35/18 and 285/35/18, the dia is 1 cm less than stock but reduced by the same amount front to rear (ie it does not muck up the rake).

Fronts are close to the strut but I can still get my fingers inbetween.

The NS2R is much squarer than the stock star PSS (even the wider M3/4 one)

Off the top of my head the star spec PSSs are 20mm narrower at the tread than the indicated value, ie a 255 is acctually 235mm wide at the tread.

The NS2R is 10mm less at the tread but very square (its like the tread has just been given a 5mm radius).

They sit pretty much flush with the plane of the arches. If you want pics I might take some tomorrow when it light out again.

update on weights:
today I put the m437 19" with oem tires on the scale:

on the front I went up from 21,2 kg to 21,6kg (+0,4kg) with the m513 and ad08rs in 245/40R18 per wheel

on the rear I went up from 22,6 kg to 23,2kg (+0,6kg) with the m513 and ad08rs in 265/40R18 per wheel

tbh when I decided to go for the m513 I expected to save a little bit of weight not only because the rims are lighter but there are a lot of threads which are about light 18" wheels..
but nevertheless the ride quality (bumps feel more soft) with the m513 got better and they actually feel more precise in turn in but probably because of the tire having more grip

Checking TireRack.com, 245/40/18 AD08R is 27lbs vs 245/35/19 MPSS that's 23lbs. You need to compare apples to apples when it comes to tires. The rims are about 3lbs lighter, so the tires took you over.

Good option for Canadians - https://odparts.ca/720-form-gtf2-18x...-p-105671.html

Very light, durable, and in my opinion better looking than Apex (and half price). 18x9 ET30 is pretty much factory fit but you can push them out 10 more millimeters with spacers. The downside is the 9 inch width so they are better suited for narrower winter tires.

How are you liking the 265 tire on a 9" wheel, especially given that the NS-2R run a bit wider than some of the other tires? Does the steering still feel as responsive as stock? I've read that with a 265 tire on a 9" wheel, the steering feel/responsiveness could be negatively impacted due to increased sidewall flex.

I'm thinking of going Hankook RS4 in either the same 265/285 on a 9/10 wheel, but Tire Rack is showing that they have an even wider contact patch than your NS-2Rs. Backup would be 245/40 and 265/40 RS4s.

2 months ago I was going to mount BFG R1's in either 275/35 or 285/30 on my square setup.

That all changed...

My thought process is to have one tire I can Solo 2 on and use at the track.

I got a set of the APEX EC-7's 18x10 33 offset thru the group buy with 12mm spacers and lugs.

The hottest 200 wear street tire is now the new Yoko A052.

I mounted 265/35 on the front and 295/35 on the rears. Fit perfect.

Now have to wait till this damn Virus runs it course before any events here in the Northeast get green lighted.

Not enough experience to really tell. Nankang says the NS-2R should be fit to a 9.5" wheel so your are completely right in your points.

Check what Hankook says about the RS4 and wheel width. They are not available in the EU so I have not researched them.

I only got to do one very wet track day on a brand new track on these tires before the COVID shutdowns so not really able to push them. They felt great in the rain and when new carried away a lot of water.

I drove hard on some country roads last weekend and the steering felt the same as always but they were not up to temp or anything. I got one floaty moment from the front but that was more trailbraking into a corner at way too high a speed.

So far they feel as sharp as stock and give great grip without sacrificing too much wear or road noise.

I also ran the same tires on my previous car, also a bit too wide, and I did not notice anything vis a vis the steering. I think the much harder sidewalls compensate for the slight pinch.

Had a trail fit of some 18s I've still got in the garage with some racing wets on - 18x10 et25

Untitled by M2 ClubSport, on Flickr

Had to remove the caliper as these 18s no way near clear the caliper

Untitled by M2 ClubSport, on Flickr

Obviously this is a no go. Wanted to run 10s & 11s but think I will have to settle for 9.5 & 10.5, which is still half inch wider than stock. Will be able tell more once I get a geo to my desired spec then ill have another trail fit.

That's unfortunate, especially with the caliper not fitting under there. I suppose the barrel on these 18s taper in and have even less room to work with than other 18s?

Thanks for the photo of a stock 19 in rear and 18 in front from a straight on side view. It really gives the correct perspective and visual comparison between 18s and 19s on this car. The 18s IMO look really good.

What size are these R compounds you have installed? I guess I'd also need to figure out how to read those numbers too.

I will be running 18" BBS E88 on my 2020 M2C once the shipment arrives from overseas. Taking the proper steps by removing the massive brakes in favor of AP Essex to accommodate my favorite wheel. I'll start a thread at some point to help document it. If interested, follow my IG or click the icon. I'll be posting pics and updates until the thread is created.

Thanks to my unofficial tire sponsor at Gran Turismo East, I have tried a dozen different tire/wheel set ups between street and track. With 18 square on 9.5 wheels, the R1 in 265/35/18 is awesome....my lap times are very close to Pirelli scrubs and they wear well. You could put a 285 in the rear but I like the ability to rotate.

Been there. I run 18/9.5 Bimmerworld wheels and still need 10-12.5mm spacers for 265/35/18 with MCS coilovers. I have no idea how people are running 10 inch fronts without contacting the strut collar.

Still my fav tire. It does everything well and I'm sure I can swing at least a 275/35/18 R1 at all 4 corners per APEX and possibly 285/30's as well
