Why does the "disable burbles" feature have to be done via bimmerlink rather than being able to be coded out using bimmercode?
With bimmerlink, you have to keep the obd adapter plugged in and have the app running. That's my understanding, anyway. So that requires opening the app each time you get in the car, right? |

I'm just about to take delivery of my new M2C in HS.
The Carly app which I've used before, but not on a newer BMW has an exhaust flap coding section. Will this change/code the exhaust flap? Is this the same essentially as the bimmerlink mentioned? |

The BimmerLink activates a hidden engine config without burbles. The config is written in by bmw but not enabled by default. |

FYI I played with it this morning and with the burbles off and in efficient mode I got these weird pops coming from the rear of the car (like if someone was dumping fuel in the exhaust if that makes sense. You could feel it rumble throughout the car...

I successfully disabled burbles via Bimmerlink's Sound Tuning option. I did this via the obdlink mx+ device as well. Takes approximately 2 seconds to disable via the app and less then a second to enable again. This is done via an ON and OFF buttons in the app. Definitely worth the money just for this feature alone but it can also be used to reset the battery in future when its replaced as well which is another additional benefit I'll look forward to.

For those who used this I have a few clarifying questions before I purchase the app:
1. Can disable using iOS correct? 2. It mentions on the app that it will only disable "factory" flaps. Anyone try this with aftermarket exhaust? I assume a non issue but wanted to check. 3. Same BT OBD adapter that I use w/ Bimmercode work? I assume yes TIA |

1. Yes 2. I imagine, yes, as long as OEM flaps were transferred to new exhaust 3. It should work. The list of supported adapters is here |

Gotta say - I like it. I live in a rural area and previously spent most of my time with the throttle in Sport plus, but I usually dropped it to Economy in traffic or when driving through downtown or neighborhoods. The burbles were too much at low speeds.
With the burbles off, I can just keep it in Sport plus all the time. The M2C looks too aggressive to be a true Q car but it sticks out a bit less now. |

Any issue with warranty status if you disable burbles? I'm not interested in power-adders while under warranty, I just don't want it to sound like this new car has a backfiring problem (which these burbles "are", IMO). Also seems like a waste of fuel for the sake of annoying people outside of the car, as it does not appear to be an actual antilag.
