Our TOP 5 Essential visual mods for the M2 & M2 Competition

Hey guys!

Seeing as we've just had a big restock of M2 & M2 Competition parts, I thought it would be a great time to list our top visual modifications.

Let us know what you think is a must-have if we've missed any?

Mirror Covers
Arguably one of the easiest and "beginners" mods that anyone can add with ease. These are some of the most popular products we sell.

https://autoid.co/products/bmw-m3-m4...mirror-covers?

Front Splitters
Easily one of the most noticeable mods you can make for any car, the M2 is no different. I'd picked our favourites below.

TRE Pre-preg Carbon Fibre Front Splitter for OG M2
https://autoid.co/products/tre-pre-p...-2015-2018-f87

Carbon Fibre CS Front Splitter for BMW M2 Competition
https://autoid.co/products/carbon-fi...ition-2018-f87

Side Skirts (or blades)
These are infamous on the M2 now and have now been replicated across other models. However they're still the perfect fit for the M2 and follow the line of the side skirt nicely ensuring the car remains classy whilst gaining aggression. Non-negotiable mod in my opinion!

Carbon Fibre Side Blades

Rear Diffuser
The rough black from factory is definitely an eyesore that needs to be changed out. Our recommendation is a quality glossy carbon fibre piece that replaces this.

Carbon Fibre Rear Diffuser

Rear Spoiler
Finally, the rear spoiler. Again, BMW insist on a small spoiler from factory. The 'CS' style is one of the most popular options and its no surprise given its suitability for the design of the M2. The 'double bubble' design works perfectly with the wide curvy hips of the M2.

You guys need a US distributor to help with shipping costs. Shipping is the only thing holding me back on the OG front lip!

I wouldn't necessarily describe them as 'essential', but they do look good.

I should say Essential for us, though we're biased haha!

I agree with 4 of them, and agree 100% with the quality. It's worth the extra shipping IMO. Keep up the good work.

How does this work specifically? Do I just email the guys at ind?

Strongly considering picking up a few items from you guys (mirror caps, lip, diffuser, spoiler).

My TRE front lip is a really quality piece. To my eye, it’s the best looking lip available for the OG being modeled after the M Performance lip for the M2C.

I wish I had a chance to see it side by side with an OEM M2C M Performance lip, but even withstanding that direct comparison the quality was apparent.

I installed it alongside an OEM M2 CS spoiler and M Performance diffuser and it was a perfect match.

I was lucky to score mine off a forum member (sorry Jack) and save on shipping, but would love if IND or some other US distributor would pick them up. Would consider their mirrors next.

Yeah for sure!

We do a lot of work with them already.

The AutoID mirrors are a must if you have a '17/'18.

Killer pic. The stance is on.

How is the fitment on those mirrors? I was pretty committed to leaving the standard mirrors as a contrarian and proud OG owner but I think I’m changing my tune.

If the AutoID units fit well, I’m sold.

If I'm honest the fit isn't flawless, but the price is right. I'm a bit OCD, and figured it'd bother me over time, but it doesn't. Now the weird part, and even I admit that this is weird, I prefer the shape of these to the OEM M2C mirrors. It's the stalk, the OEM is too long, makes the mirror stick out to far.

Appreciate the honest feedback like this!

The Mirror Units are designed to a brief. Our key objectives were to:
  • Replicate the original M Mirrors the best possible design with the constraints of the different mirror brackets
  • Offer great value for money, considerably cheaper than OEM retrofit
  • Great fitment for aftermarket piece

I think they achieved them but concede that fitment could be better in some areas. 85-90% fitment for 30-50% of the cost of BMW, I'm in

Agree with your assessment and appreciate the candor. Would love to hear the inside perspective of what it takes to bring a product like this to market as it relates to fitment and QC in a video or something.

Shoot that and throw it on your YouTube . It’d give people an appreciation for what you’re up against.

Absolutely digging those wheels! ALMOST makes me regret getting the satin black 763Ms!

BTW, I ordered the front lip for my OG M2. Shipping was much quicker than expected. Box was a little messed up but no damage to the lip. Quality looks great! Not installed yet but soon.

I'm afraid you wouldn't like the price, I know I didn't. You can nearly have 3 sets of 763M's for a single set of FI-R's, but I've been dreaming of them since before I even had the car, so they were a foregone conclusion at some point.

Flex. I’m excited for my Volk G025s to arrive, but if I’m honest I’d totally prefer the FI-R if they weren’t another 2k more than the already stupid Volks.
