This is the best time to release an S55 M2 since the M3/M4 is nearing end of life but will likely have renewed interest with the GXX release, right as the current gen M2 is phased out. EVERYTHING BMW tells you in public always has a hidden marketing spin....remember the interview with the original M2 designer about the mirrors? Basically said the 235 mirrors were more aerodynamic and were needed because the car sat higher than the M4. I guess when you have 40 more hp now it doesn't matter |

I love it, I change my mind often but as of now this is my next car.
I wish I could have the interior in all black and I hope there is an M3/M4 style variable redline display / shift light feature (always liked that) but otherwise this looks great to me! |

If base pricing is close to the base 18 M2, this will definitely be a great bargain in BMW money (assuming msrp). I would take a base car since the brakes and seats are still not adequate for track duty unless they charge $1000 for the seats and $1000 for the brakes then why not. HS is a no brainer.
I've been waiting for a car like this from BMW since the 1M. M2 was beautiful compared to the 1M but after test driving a few (6spd and DCT), the M2 left me a bit underwhelmed. I had my fingers crossed for an additional variant ie GTS/CSL in parallel with the regular M2 but I'll definitely get this Comp first and wait for the GTS/CSL. Thanks for listening BMW. |

Any word on HUD?
It's not a deal-breaker for me, but it could be a deciding factor between this and an M3 ZCP. I didn't but a 2018 F80 in December just because I needed to see exactly what the M2 Comp would be like. |

I'm with you, but I think they will look much better with chrome surrounds. Will someone render this, please, just so the rest of us can stop hating the car because of the stupid looking all-black grill? I do love the front end, otherwise. The tweaks to the lower fascia compared to the M2 were done very well.
The car is surely going to be a beast in terms of track performance. I would love to drive one, although no matter how fast, I would never buy one. I hope it sells like crazy though to all the M-addicts with deep pockets so they will build me a CSL within the next 3-4 years. I will be a buyer unless Porsche goes back to a 6 cylinder motor again in the sub-$70k category. Just won't happen, so please BMW, don't break my heart as well on the CSL...

The US models have generally come standard with more options so I am really optimistic about this car being a sweet deal. |

Under 60k, I feel like this a gift from BMW but only thanks to European emissions regulation.. Who ever thought that emission regulation would of benefited the performance enthusiast community... #irony

It’s definitely a great price for the car.The only issue will be how they intend to package the options in the US and Canada. If they load the car up with most stuff being standard, the base price could go up quite a bit from your $58K estimated price.
